    Subwoofer design software?

Do you have any advice M5? For a bad thread it certainly keeps you coming back. If you were hoping you'd find a list of credentials that suggest that I know what I'm doing, you won't, because I don't. But your criticism isn't even constructive.

    Subwoofer design software?

I see no other way to approach designing a sub but methodically and mathematically..If I wanted to buy a bunch of parts and slap them together and throw it in the trunk of my car, not only would I be an idiot, but I would be wasting my time by talking about it in a forum such as this. I'm also fully aware that development of a prototype is neither cheap or easy; nothing worth doing ever is. The guys that started Fi and RE for example..they started somewhere, probably by taking a knife to some shitty driver they bought for $10. And then doing their homework. Sinking their money and effort into making something better. Now these guys make some of the baddest shit on the planet..you guys know this. I'm not trying to go for a get-rich-quick scenario or even a get-rich-at-all scenario. I just know it can be done. ///M5..you have seen many try this and fail no? You seem to be the expert in "you can't pull this off".. This won't be for me, I run Fi. In fact, nothing you posted here was of any help at all. Why waste your time?
  3. I have been scouring the net for a couple days, searching every form of the phrase "Subwoofer design software" and have found nothing but enclosure design programs and port length/size calculators. Anyone know of anything that would help me? Delving into the other side, designing and building my own subwoofer. I don't have the capability to press cones or mold baskets, nothing huge yet. But I'd like to choose my own magnets and construct a motor structure and my own voice coils. I would prefer a graphics-based type of program. And no point in telling me I can't pull this off.. maybe true but I'm the type that will try it anyway and eff with things until I'm defeated or I kick its ass. Let me know.

    D2 Coils and Universal Option?

Universal: This option gives you the choice to later chance the impedence of your voice coils. You can change from dual 2

    Feedback..for a noob plz

So was thinking of a way to hold the enclosure in one place. What if I got a regular battery tray an cut it up so that i had four corners that i could bolt to the inside of my trunk, holding the box stationary.

Yeah i can do that. As for running a second battery, do i just splice the + wire into the other batt to alternator wire and ground the batt off? Need lots more 0 gauge! Just bought my roadkill trunk kit too..now just need to figure out when I'll have the time to do all this work. Anyone know a good place to get some system to hold my enclosure in one spot, so its not slidin around, or should i just make somethin which wouldnt be too hard either? Oh yeah was wondering if 4 guage is cool for speaker wire or is it too much?

    Feedback..for a noob plz

Went with 10" bl, cooled, RF t10001bd at 1 ohm, 1cf ported box, (which is tuned a little high, might take apart and add an L to the port to lengthen it and drop tuning a bit). Just bought a 200amp alt. 1/0 wire all around, 4awg on alt. Was wondering if i should go for a cap, read that independent testing puts this amp closer to 1500watts at 1 ohm and want plenty of aux power, for starting the car and what not. Also should I stuff the box? Been a while since i had bass in the car, but then nit was just a thrown together mismatch system with no regard to resistance on the amp or any other important factor for that matter..wanna do it right this time. Any advice is appreciated.

    Fast shipping, slow e-mail response

Cool, makes me feel better about the leads. And i am willing to wait for the sub, I'm very excited. Pretty much a noob, but have done my homework, whatever that counts for. Haven't had bass in my ride for a couple years. Anyway my car has a wimpy 75 amp alternator and I'm trying to find an OEM replacement putting out around 160, or info on how to modify a 160amp to work on my ride.. going with RF T10001Bd amplifier and dont want to kill my battery. Is a cap a good idea also? Should I even be asking these ?? in this thread? Always up for learning new stuff on how to get awesome sound from the BL. Thanks

Thanks for the insight, but I was actually looking for something a little more helpful.
  11. I ordered a 10" BL this Saturday, but realized after reading some forums that I didn't need the extreme lead option.. I e-mailed the orders department like 20 min. after i placed the order, but have yet to get any response. That being said, I have already received tracking confirmation and they stated that the sub would be delivered this Friday..what can I do besides ordering another new sub? I will be using the sub daily, and dont want the tinsel slap or worn out spiders that this option is known for..anyone with some advice?
