This, The holes are causing a lot of cancellation which means it plays quieter then normal. You need to have a better mounting ring.

This thread is useless, he doesn't has a question and in my opinion i think he isn't going to buy any of them. It's like asking which car is better, a ferrari or a bentley?
-
If you want to play daily choose the SMD, it's worth it if you can afford it. Sounds better. But what car? How much power? What kind of music do you want to play? Ask a specific question instead of a random question.
-
Are you building a SPL ,competition setup only? If yes, then it matters. If this is going to be a daily driver then choose the cheapest one.

BUt your woofers don't have the BLING BLING... (End of trying to be funny.) In all seriousness, the quality you guys deliver is great. And i like that you guys don't need to fancy everything up to make it sell. A nice, "sophisticated";clean look.

Too bad people like to fuck up ferrari's sometimes, but ok they payed for it so they can do whatever they want. That's probably one of the reasons ferrari only sells some cars to some selected people instead of just everyone. Install looks good.

Any good for wiring up my subs?
kirill007 replied to [email protected]'s topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The link you posted showed 12guage, but if you read the reviews, the wire itself is only 16 guage. Which is quite small for 600w subs. -
230pounds is what 100kg? That's not a reason to go bigger then 600cc on a SS.(SS=supersport like yamaha r6) Seriously start out with a 250cc kawasaki or if you really want to be fast buy a 600cc. But it's not very smart to start out on a 600cc, your riding skills won't be as good as if you start out with a 250cc. You said you test drove a 1000cc but test driving isnt the same as owning one, i have test drivin a almost 200hp BMW liter bike and i felt quite confident till you actually use the throttle more then 1/8th.. Your saying you don't have good clutch control and that is a serious problem on a liter or 600cc bike. A liter bike is faster to 60mph but not by much because the grip and control of a wheelie is a problem. Both can get you over 60mph in first gear. Top speed is rediculous high too.. Oh and best tip ever, buy the best protection you can afford if you think your budget is big enough double it. Seriously think about it , buy a second hand cheap 250-400cc bike and don't worry about dropping it, parts are cheaper too if you break something. You will learn how to ride better one a small capacity engine bike then on a liter or 600cc bike.

Alt not increasing voltage at idle!
kirill007 replied to Dictator's topic in Automotive and Performance
In the begining he had a AQ2200d, sooooo. But regardless, why didn't Ohio Gen catch it if it had a problem in the begining when he sent it back? Unless they didn't want to do warranty work on it. And Mechman, I know I gave you a hard time in that one thread, still didn't change the fact I know yall do very good work and have a quality product with good customer service. I meant in the beginning when he had the 3500. -

kirill007 replied to Dictator's topic in Automotive and Performance
i think you fried it in the beginning. a 275a alternator needs to supply over 400 amps to 2 small batteries with almost no reserve. -
now seriously. What is the budget? 200-300? or more? Do you want to add a amp?

Did multiple runs of 1/0 really help you?
kirill007 replied to ilikedirt's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Agreed. I have multiple runs of 1/0 and it dropped my voltage to 9.4volts wtf. Then I switched and ran a single run of 8 gauge and bam 16.5 volt. Wtf. There has to be something wrong then... (or is this a joke ? because it seems like it) Running 16.5 volts on 8 gauge? I think its a joke ... XD you can run millions of volts thru 8 guage (no joke ) It's amps that heat up the wire. -

subwoofers don't have to go thru a surface, most of the sound comes from the port or in a sealed enclosure it doesn't really mathers because low frequencies are not directional. Mids will sound bad when reversed because the motor+basket are obstructing the sound, or the sound has to go thru sheetmetal and deforms.

my new 15" FI BL has the tiniest rip/tear on the spider..what shou

You didn't read it , i said CAN. never said he had to try it.(and not at 25hz) (deleted it, he probably hasn't read it yet.) -

kirill007 replied to damn coco's topic in General Fi
The tear could also be from clipping. But the heat could be from just the weather . Just set your gain correctly and turn the bass knob to as much as you want, normally they should easily handle a 1500 in free air. Can anyone point out why i got -2 reputation for this comment?(i wanna know, i know i can easily be wrong, can't always be correct) Clipping can add to the wear and tear of a spider.(notice that i said COULD be) Not saying that it is the way to break in subwoofers.(no need to, i never do it.) Car's don't need a break in period neither.(common misconception.)- 21 replies

So you got 2 BL's with a 4 inch coil warm on a 1500d? That is very weird, normally they should be able to handle a 1500d each when getting a bit warm. How did you set the gain? do You use any sort of bassboost? Post a picture of the rip. -
More musical and more thermal power handling.
-
Logical since the BL xmax is 18mm, but still in a good box you shouldn't HEAR a difference.
-
Nobody knows which one is louder, so don't ask for it. One can be louder in a certain application and then lose in the other. Every sub listed will do what it needs to do, worry more about the box and electrical and front stage to keep up with the bass.

The acer will be faster, but i don't know how reliable it is. It should atleast last 2 years so if you change computers often it doesn't matters.

look up ohms law. Or read this paralell:= end load= (1/6+1/6+1/6)^-1 (0.16667+0.16667+0.16667)^-1 =(1/0.16667)*3 =2 ohms that was a exampl with 6 ohm drivers, 3 of them. Series is easy: Just count all the ohms together: exapmle: 6+6+6=18 ohms.
-
why tape off the top part? i don't think there is need for it. but nice box, none the less.
-
I think it kind of sucks that people think it will come out cheaper , while they can get a better result with less quality deadener (at a lower cost).
