In depth paper on Low Reluctance Return Path MMAG motors
kirill007 replied to Quentin Jarrell's topic in Direct Sound Solutions
But what is the use of such high BL? Fi has dropped BL on a few woofers, because it caused a few problems. What would be the target group of such drivers? small PA systems? -

Nice papers, but they look quite outdated. How old are they? From 2005? The technology looks promising, but it looks too good to be true. -
Interest in Big 3 kits?
kirill007 replied to RAM_Designs's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
People already do that with higher quality in my opinion. check this out, his prices aren't really low, but it's very good quality. http://www.ceautoelectricsupply.com/big3kits.html -
An update on what's going on with our subwoofers

Why did you choose a 4inch coil over a 3 inch coil? -
A well thought out 15" Mayhem build...
kirill007 replied to 95Honda's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
"Inside will be heavily coated with Cascade Quiet Coat". Why do you coat the inside with liquid deadener? I find the title funny Good luck with the build, be sure to post some pictures. -
They already gave you an answer. Keep your box, but add a port in it. If you're on a super tight buget, try some pvc tube. It will be faster than waiting to build another box, and it will sound very good. 3.7 cu ft for 1 12 is still too much for ported. He only needs a 2cu ft ported box, tuned at 36hz would be good enough.

I really don't get why people compare subs in looks.

hey guys, instead of a buying a toothbrush and wasting all your time, just buy some 60 grit sanding paper it works just as well for 1/10th of the price. And the sanding paper is not as flexible as the toothbrush so your strenghthening your teeth too. Maybe add some lead to it, more mass=better.

Thoughts on Image Dynamics (ID-max) Subs???
kirill007 replied to snowy8171's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
The sundown Z series subwoofers are geared towards SQ. And like all sundown drivers they will take a beating and get loud if you want them to. SSA icon is also a good sounding driver. -
Interesting to see how much forum bashing goes on over here. Danielle, that's a good score for that power. Especially while being a "beginner"(correct me if i'm wrong.).

Ey guys, relax , didn't write anything offensive @Ts , please just take it as a compliment , avatars like that is just not something you see on a car-audio forum everyday on topic : looks like you got some good guys helping you improving your scores ,but if you wanna research some for yourself, on another forum that shares name with SSA's Steve Mead theres a pretty good thread for beginners to help raise their score by "Fecupe2001" she has plenty good mentors here on SSA. Smd is for trolls You are funny, you probably don't even know what BASSMASTER meant. Stop generalizing, there are trolls everywhere. The thread made by Fecupe is a very good one, a lot of tips and tricks to raise the score for "beginners". He even does good experiments to bust some urban car audio myths.

Not for the companies. I sure wouldn't want to be Fi now, handling that much business.

stupid can't you spell. Read the first post by the OP, you'll get why he said that..

did you really make a port that is 0.5inch wide and 2 inch high? :s

500W amps
kirill007 replied to 23sonmyfeet's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I vote for the jbl pbx. -
If you just put that 130 dollar towards better front speakers you will be more happy then using the rear lid speakers which will get easily destroyed if you have decent bass. And the bass will normally be louder without the 6*9's in there.
-
Correct. (Except if you have a digital desings 95 or DD Z series subwoofer and want to overpower them in a small enclosure. Then you need to be gentle in the beginning because the spiders are too stiff.)

They are right most of the time, but they exagerate things. (we're getting quite offtopic..) -
What recording studio do you like?
kirill007 posted a topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
As the title says, what recording studio do you like? Which seems to have a lot of high quality recordings? I like sony, known from Micheal Jacksons CDs. -

Why would you think the quality hasn't gone up? SInce the 90's all alfa's use german electronics so no failure there. I have never seen any rust on a alfa from the 90's and above except 1 model in particular.(just like mercedes has the G-series which rust after owning it for a few months.) Top Gear. Oh, top gear.. They have no experience with the quality. And top gear isn't a good review program, but it's a entertainment show. -

Probably not known in the US but the 3.2 V6 24valve from alfa romeo. Looks great( yes the engine itself), sounds amazing and keeps on going, doesn't break down engine wise if you follow the services. A lot of engines with over 0.5 million kilometers.) -
Does that mean you have to use the same guage wire as speaker wires? Do you know the size of the wire inside of your alt? Then why would you ever need 0guage wire? The subs voicecoil has cooling built in and it has no plastic to melt. Not all woofers have cooling built in, that was extremely rare some years ago. Some year's ago? As in atleast 15 years ago, since i use quite a lot of old subwoofers and speakers atleast 10 years old and they have built in cooling. ANd those old woofers without cooling couldn't handle more then 600W and especially not 1000W for a considerable amount of time .

Is there a green lighted amp?
kirill007 replied to Briggiboy33's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If you want me to answer seriously, then there is no amp that does 600RMS at 4 ohm for 150 dollar.
