  1. Hope the experts here can help, I have some OZ ME380CS component speakers that I am looking to install in my summer cruiser. Iis a 72 Cutlass, so along with the comps and sub I plan on adding some sound deadinig. I recently came across a Punch 600a5 for a reasonable price so I scooped it up. I thought about doing a sub on the single channel and the comps on the other 4. I guess I'm wondering what the opinions are on the use of 5 channel amps vs. 4ch and a mono? If the 5ch would be a good option, what would be the best setup considering it the components are crossovers, mid range and mid bass both 4ohm and 6ohm tweeter? The amp specs are: Punch 600a5 50x4+100x1@ 4ohms 100x4+100x1@ 2 ohms Comps are rated between 75-125 watts rms Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Signing my name on the roll

Thanks for the welcome guys. Well, the stolen car is my Yukon Denali. They took my 22"s with the same JL sub's and JL 500/1. My insurance company paid well, so I went with bigger rims and less on the amp. Go figure....lol I always liked the sound of the Bose system, so I just added the subs and amp. I guess I'm hoping to get similar quality out of the OZ components in the Cutlass. The little I've be able to find on them has been all good. And at what I paid for them I can't miss. I may even move the 2 12's to the car and get a single for the truck. I typically listen to R&B, Jazz, and Hip Hop. I don't want to be heard coming down the block, but I do like to enjoy the bass in my music.
  4. Saw your forum after passing by many on the web. I did post my other info in the "How I found SSA thread"> I'll be lookig to learn more about car audio in general and also looking for feedback on products I'm considering that some of you may have experience with. I currently have a '01 Yukon Denali that I added 2 JL Audio 12w3v2 D4 being pushed by an MA Audio HK898. I know it's not phenomenal, but my car was stolen once and I hate people getting my stuff for free. What I'm doing now(and want to do it right..) Is a 72 Cutlass. I'm strting with components and may add a sub later. If I do subs I was wondering what size? I know the base response would be different than what is in my SUV since it is all open cabin. For the Cutlass I already have a set of OZ Audio ME380CS speakers, which is tweeter, crossovers, mid range and midbass. I'm looking for an amp that will work well with these. I was considering a Cadence TXA3004 or a Soundstream RUB4.500. I know the old school SS were really good, but are hard to find in working condition. I plan on putting Dynamat on the floor and behing the door panels to limit some of the road noise. I'd love any experience you guys can offer.

How did you guys find SSA???

I was browsing the net looking for reviews of different audio vendors and came across this site. I was amazed with how many people are here are not from the US. Shows how much worldwide interest is here. My current system is very minor on ly subs and amp. I'm looking to increase my knowledge of mobile audio for another vehicle install. I will be asking question and most improtantly reading to increase my knowledge. Thanks for having me....
