REVpuggie replied to REVpuggie's topic in Ascendant Audio
thanx for the fast reply Nick . -
Ey guys, relax , didn't write anything offensive @Ts , please just take it as a compliment , avatars like that is just not something you see on a car-audio forum everyday on topic : looks like you got some good guys helping you improving your scores ,but if you wanna research some for yourself, on another forum that shares name with SSA's Steve Mead theres a pretty good thread for beginners to help raise their score by "Fecupe2001"

How would a Fi Q12" fare in a ported enclosure for home theatre?
REVpuggie replied to inertia's topic in General Fi
a tuning of 24Hz / 25Hz would be more then enough playing down to 20hz , low pass would preferably used lower at 50 to 65 hz ..... but then ............. why 12's ? a set of 18inch Q's with high Qts would in closed boxes be much nicer -

pretty sweet , too bad not all car's specs are shown or that you can get inside of all cars ... they should give you the option to look under the bonnet / show the engine

Need an alt for a VW Golf
REVpuggie replied to Notorious97200's topic in Mechman High Output Alternators
typically a diesel will have a bigger alt .. VW fits 120 and 140 Amp alts on the 1.9 and 2.0 TDI's ... they are indeed interchangable with the alts on the petrol engines , , -

I always try to limit number of ports to "one" .. and bigger is almost always better for efficiency .. so you might want to bend the port .....dimensions are inner or outer ?

What Features Should Be In A "Good Build"
REVpuggie replied to DaVibe's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
ask for quality , thick mdf (at least 1") good carpetting ,woofers mounted with t-nuts and so forth , so you'll get something that will last if its a good installer he'll know what works for your car and how to do it propperly ...so don't tell him how it should look and which way the subs should be facing , let him tell you what your options are and pick the one that suits you the most... -
damn those are some serious numbers ....... hope to achieve the 1K .............eventually congrats M5 !

Need some info about 4th order!
REVpuggie replied to Optimus_Prime's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
so you really dont need a 4th order bandpass , try 6th order parallel tuned bandpass....if you really want to build a bandpass , best bet is still a normal vented enclosure -
I don't get how you guys can get stuck on choosing two completely different drivers , state goals and space limitations !
