bass is always omnidirectional. there is no exception to that. and yes, like normal people, there has been plenty of times that i hear a loud system, and look into a crowd of cars and have a difficult time telling which one it is. hmm... maybe im just weird? the only way u can tell where its coming from, is when the volume gradually increases as it gets closer, peaks in volume, and then gradually decreases as it gets farther away. other than that, bass has been and will always be dubbed omnidirectional. Well , I have to dissagree ! frequencies shift as you are moving away or towards something , in short : to the person standig/sitting stil the sound shifts .you produce higher frequencies when you drive towards them as the sound is compressed and lower as the soundwaves are elongated as you move away from him . same goes for SPL ,the closer the person is to you it louder it wil be. this way even bass frequencies can be detected easily from which direction they come from . so low frequency waves themselves are omnidirectional you in your car are NOT

no one is going to be able to give you an ready to use SPLcomp blueprint that will get every last ounce of decibel out of your BTL , get hold of an termlab and start testing , i figure that you'll have it right by box nr. 10 or so didnt I get you on track the last time ? try getting the cars peak up for starters , so get your welding gear out and a mountain dampening

I love it , did a great job !!! hope Tim tell's me if/when its coming to Holland for a show !!!

...totally depends on setup i'd say ...music would benefit of two 10 ported because of the geater suface area and porttuning
-
for the sake of good audio ....make your own 8in or bigger ports , just use the search button on this forum and get some pvc ... I think there is a self made 5inch port in my buildlog , works like a charm .

How thick MDF for 18" sub for no box flex
REVpuggie replied to explosivesound's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
for stuff like this I'd use 2ich thich and a lot of bracing .... -
Well , I'm from the Netherlands so I guess I have to respond to this , its legal where here so I can put some light on this subject I think . as with everething there are pro's and cons , I'll put some on a list . - the percentage of users actually has lowered since its been legal . - tax income for the state - the link between te softer drugs like weed and hasj and the harder drugs has become smaller , meaning , often when you start smoking weed you'll eventually use coke or an other highly addicive drug simply because your (not legal)dealer sells that too , when its legal you'll go to a shop that ONLY has hasj and weed - price per gramm halved , nice for everyone who smokes but also for those who dont , because there are less robbery's muggings and such , because its affordable . - since its legal , schools can give better education about drugs cons : - who is allowed to farm weed ? because its such a high profit buissines ,everyone will want to farm it ! - where to the give the entrepeneurs permission to open a weedshop ... cant be to close to schools or playgrounds and anywhere else where small children often are . -how to control what and how much is being sold and how strong it is , there should be some kind of system like with sigarettes , again to cotrol taxes overall I think it worked like a charm where I'm from , more happy faces , less prisoners , less tax money thrown away ...

sadly , no exp. with those woofers eighter . But I can tell you this , its prob a modified PA woofer. they have a sister company called MASTER and make freaking loud PA systems and do a lot of OEM Beyma's car-amps a amongst the best sounding I've come across , a very good friend has 2 1st edition Beyma 3600RL's ,he'll NEVER sell those (and if they were mine I wouldnt too) ! as for subwoofers you might wanna stick to the brands offered on this forum , I'm all for Fi / Ascendant Audio , others will say different ,in the end All brands here make kick ass quality goods

what car are you trying to achieve this in ?

would you rather fix it yourself or buy it fixed?

whahaha , that would make an excellent quote to put on at the end of each post. -
uhhhh...wanna bet everything isn't entered correct!?!?!? Everything is entered on the parameters...... Taken from the very websites that make each sub. Granted some figures are in metric, I had to convert to US standard.... I know what I'm doing with Termpak trust me, I have made many enclosures by using this program. Granted, a real world application will change the tuning due to the vehicle resonant freq. Aside from that, are you looking at the same graphs I posted???? The ripple on the Fi is retarded... That's why it's an SPL sub and not a SQ sub. The graph plainly show the Fi deviates from flat by 1 more than the SSA. See the green line???? You want that to be as smooth as possible, no mountain peak like the Fi..... Disregard the spl line, it's not a true fair judgement. As for the rest, Termpak seems to work well for Thumpper @ PTS, So I guess he enters stuff wrong too....hmmmmmmm Yes you can work with Termpak .....but you clearly havent got a clue HOW to interpred those graphs you're seeing ...entering an Le would have altered the praph , that would have shown roll off in the higher octaves , so I'm 100% sure you didnt enter any ! Again both subs measure just fine , but you have to know how to interpred them , and then there is still theory over practise , Listen to both and then make up your mind about what YOU like !
-
@ Jay-C76 , those graphs you posted aren't really worth anything .... you didnt enter an ' Le ' with te T/S parameters .... and would suggest that a Xcon would actually be peakier in an in-car application taking into account the cars own peak resonanse .... the Xcon would be better in a HT app. for sure ... They both measure just fine , I couldnt make a decission based on those graphs .

sorry for overseeing that post ... butt still, use your imagination it can be done without having stuff sticking out of the box

that indeed is a very efficient way to brace without taking up space !!

oh lawd ..... somebody shoot me !

two BL's , 12 inch or larger should be capable of doing 150's ...I think you should think about where your troubles are . amping ,wiring , setup will be a large part of why your not doing them 150's ,post that and it will give way more insight you can always put heavier stuff in your trunk but its up to you to make it work right ....if your not doing that it will be pointless to invest in equipment

King is really the place to start . I've found that AJhorn is an acurate calculator , full version costs about 120 usd , really user friendly , infact its almost as easy to use as winISD. http://www.aj-systems.de/
