  1. never tried it , but heared something like this : A US model HU wont work in europe anyway because of the bands of the radio that are slightly off . so the model you want would be the pioneer DEH-P88RS-II

    4th order bandpass

Don't build an enclosure just because you want to build something else or because someone else made something like it , build something that fits your woofer and goals ... who cares what kind of box gets the job done .... better of posting the woofer you've got and the goals you want to achieve in how big a space, asking what type of box would suit you best

I'd like too show some enclosure builds of mine

A plexiglass window undoes all the work I had making the braces , I've got some polycarbonate butt really no intention to use it , the boxes arent for show , they're meant to achieve a certain goal , I've got the pics right ? our little country isnt that big , rather small actually , the furthest drive though our country would take about 4 hours without traffic jams (as if that would ever happen) , so our audio scene is small too . I hate showing an unfinished box , but since it will never again will be in my car it never will get finished , here it goes , one of my backloaded horns no.5 the last box I played in my car : and a phone pic , since I cant seem to find my camera .... hope the 3rd gen golf and seat marbella get finished soon so I can post up some SQ setups I'm doing ....funny thing is one car will have nothing playing on-axis and the other one has every front driver on-axis ,both with the same set of goals butt with completely different drivers and cars

    ported vs. transmission lines

Hope you weren't refering to me . point taken that this is stuff that's not for everyone , butt if noone would attemt these kind of things progress would never be made . I've got a box calculation program that alows me to tune horns and T-lines , and yes when you mess with length and the Sd of the beginning and end of the line ,altering powerhandling and response its is very possible it cant be called a T-line anymore , not saying it cant be done or cant lead to very loud enclosures (from experience). oh one more note , when designing a box a T-line rarely wins from a backloaded horn design (calculated).

    Good Marine Sub?

make the effort on a 4th order bandpass !

    Hatchbacks

get a Ford focus , those are well build , and very suitable going really loud in a no wall situation

    ported vs. transmission lines

testing and tweaking is the only right way ...with any box , box calculating programs are only a tool to get somtething close to what you're after . not all woofers work in a QWTL , very low QTS (spl) woofers tend to work really well though butt not for burping only because the wavelength becomes to long till it gets to the meter and thus tuned too low build and test both and keep the loudest one .

I'd like too show some enclosure builds of mine

wow , its been a long time since anybody posted here , thanx for the comments ! obviously I've been busy in the mean time , I'll post-up something soon .. no subboxes though ...I did some doors and on-dash mids next subbox will be build when I get my 18" SMD

best bang for $200 or lower

for me it would be a no-brainer , but I've never been a fan of RF subs besides the TRF (only because of the SPL woofers based on that thing)

Where to get mdf for cheap??

I gladly pay a little extra for MDF that is : - properly stored flat - in dry, preferably close to room temperature and not to humid conditions - at a place that thas has accurate tablesaws to make initial cuts

Has anyone ever heard of VIBE?

Its available here since the last european finals. vibe attended with an tunnel of bass (a tunnel with an shitload of woofers you can walk through) So I've heard of em ... made a boxcalulation for a guy I know hwo bought 2 15's but he hasnt finished the box yet , judging from the calculation I made ,an AA in the same range will perform better , I'll have a little wait and I will be able to hear/measure if BBpro and AJhorn were right .

L7 vs Fi Q vsFI BL

Don't make a stupid statement and I wouldn't. The comment wasn't about the driver but that you've heard them in a crap installation. Good installation wins over driver choice any day of the week. Hail to that !

    Subwoofers in Doors

I've sat in a SQ comp car with an 12inch JL flat in each front door and dynaudio mids and highs in dash , to me thats still the best sounding system i've ever heared , so do it ,but try to put those amps elsewere , besides the weight ,powercables are going to be an issue
  19. We had blast today ..really a lot of fun this is not my car , this is of one of our team members ,just so you know . so its an 30 year old VW beetle with an complete custom build polyester body and soft leather top . install: 1x 15 inch mayhem D2 in a 4,75 cu. ft box , port 76 sq. inch tuned to 49 HZ 2 dragster daa2201 linked (which are really crap)I'll explain why later 3x 72Ah Varta , they were sitting @ 13.2 V fully charged.(wich should be 13.7) the dragsters should putt out 4400 Wrms a 2ohms @ 14.4 linked ,we only got to 3200W @ 13.2 V @2 ohms,we also tested a Celestra DA4K , that one put out 2000W @ 2 ohms @ 13.2V (rated a 3200W @1 ohm on 14.4 and 0,5 ohms stable) and a Celestra DA6K2 , this one put out 2800W @ 2 0hm @13.2 V (rated 5000W @ 14.4 V @ 1ohm and 0.5 ohms stable) , so the Celestra's did extremely well and I've got good hopes that when we can run it on 1 ohm it and new batteries are in the DA6K will come close to 6KW ! the old score stood on 141,5 , we tweeked the system today we got to 145,6 today , this seems like not a very high score , but its a soft leather top Cabrio ...that a LOT harder to go loud in ! this winter we will recone the Mayhem to D1 , we've got a few new ideas on the box too ,like a 10inch aeroport , upgrade it electrical with a few northstar NSB100 batteries and a different amp . anyways here's a little video of the final run

    sound club : car club

The great thing in our sound club is that everyone has a different dissipline he's good at , so far we've got a welder/benchworker/and all other steel stuff , two electricians , one that knows a lot about building boxes and setting up front stages(that would be me)a 2 body/polyester worker and someone that can repair HU's and amps ... furthermore in our club we al have an equal democatic vote in all decisions and all new members have to be voted in by 100% positive vote . we have a weekly gathering ,we rarely talk about audio much, thats stuff for the weekends . and we all pay a yearly fee to provide for 1 weekend meeting in august , stuff like a termlab , and minimum 2 BBQ's
