I gotchya. So my question now would be should I go ahead and build the 2 seperate boxes for 2 speakers? or just buy one Sub and build a bigger box that will somehow still fit. Any yeah iml2001ser i found that after countless hours of internet browsing and I have many other sites for ext cab gm truck boxes so if you're interested pm me.

yeah, the initial plan was to try and cram those bastards underneath the backseat of my ext cab chevy but that obviously didn't work. so they were placed in some sealed boxes i built up real quick and were just placed on the floor or seat or wherever. And thats probably why they were stolen

It was an older Kenwood Excelon rated at 1200rms @ 1 ohm. Those subs will eat some power. I just wish I had ported them just for fun.

Welcome Chuck. I just had my 2 12" RE SEs stolen from me this year and man do i miss em. and they were being starved for air in 2 small sealed boxes.

Awesome. Now I just need to figure how big to make the port! anybody wanna help? And on a side note: I know doubling your cone area potentially gives you a 3db bump in a sealed enclosure. What about for vented? Is building 2 identical vented enclosures much better than one? Or should I upgrade to a better speaker and build a larger box for it?

I know the volume so far because these are goin underneath the back seat of my 02 ext cab chevy. My plan is to build the enclosure and then have external ports built over the transmission hump. I just need to figure out the port dimensions and tuning frequency. Does the external port idea sound like it'd work?

Right now i'm planning on 2 RE SR10s. Each in a .88 ft^3 ported @ some unknown frequency because I've never designed a ported enclosure.

Cool i know some kids at school out there. They always tell how fun tumbleweeds and cacti are. just messin never been out there.
