Honestly Power bastards is a complete joke. Both the alts and customer service. If you want a quality built alt do not buy from them. My experience was absolutely terrible with them but now I know better So who you using now Mac? DC 270 XP -

Guessing you have a second battery in the back? You can do it either way but if you do have another battery you will have to ground that as well -

I just used some MDF sitting around and cut it about 8" in length, then cut it around 2" thick. Then turn it onto the 3/4" edge and attach two L brackets. One on each side saves your box plus looks good too
