It's kinda depressing watching our parkinson's rat. We gave him apomorphine while the other group gave theirs amphetamine, crazy junky rats.
-
I am jealous of you. That's where I want to work this summer. I'll be in the pharm.d program in 2 years. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
-
byebye Ryan. have fun at work.
-
woot my cousin is gonna get me an interview to be a pharmacist clerk. not exactly the greatest job in the world but hey, saves me the trouble of finding a summer job and looks nice if I wanna go to pharm school
-
Do pharm if you're interested in it. Know a few guys who got in and went through with it ... couple changed their mind. They're bringing in some decent cash right now, and they always seem to be in demad (grocery stores, hospitals, pharm companies, labs, pharm stores, etc). Biology is huge ... you know that --- are you specializing in anything? Anything that sparks huge interest (any specific branch ... toxicology, A&P, ecology, microbi, pathology, nutrition, neuroscience, etc). Don't worry ... BSc Biology is a good degree. You can always teach with it eventually. If you're into econ, you can get into a huge job describing the economical impact of certain biological issues ... clear cuts or an environmental toxin, for example. Any interest in forensics at all? That's where I started out during grad school ... in a lab, doing basic DNA isolation, genetic makeups, etc. Wasn't fun, but the experience was nice (and I made $35K while still in school). Is an internship an option? Accounting / some sort of math is always good with a biology degree. In fact, that's what I'd suggest. You seem bright enough, dedicated enough, and "common sense" smart to become some sort of doctor, Dennis. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I appreciate the vote of confidence At this point, I think pharm would be the best direction. My cousin went to a 5 year program straight outta high school, now has a doctorate in pharm, and makes 70-80k right outta college. Seems like a very financial sound path, not incredibly exciting though. I'm still thinking about the accounting/math aspect, always liked math. Blah, I'm so undecisive and barely motivated. I told my mom I could graduate early, she seemed pretty excited about that.

My prof was playing Kanye before class. I thought I was in the wrong classroom.

Hmmm .... Hmmmmmm ... I was in that position, stuck around for two years for the MSc. Are you looking for a job right now? Near future (as in, to start working right after graduation in the fall)? What type of work/job are you looking to do with your degree? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not really looking for a job right away. I was on the fence about grad school, but I think that's what I'm gonna do. Maybe pharmacy, optometry, or something along those lines. Any clue what are some jobs I could do with a BS in bio? I don't wanna be stuck in a lab.

ok im done whining like an emo kid. continue with what yall were doing.
-
fall schedule: advanced cell bio physiol plant ecol molecular bio lab race and ethnicity only 15 units, not too bad.
-
my grades suck so far. probably gonna head outta state for grad school. i've always wanted to see the northeast. something tells me i'm gonna hate the weather though.
-
did Thilo have the xmax listed on the TS?
-
sigh idk what i wanna do about school. here's the deal, i'm pretty close to finishing all my required classes to get my BS, almost 2 quarters ahead of schedule. options: 1) if i take an extra class during this summer, i can graduate after this coming fall (1st quarter, we're on the quarter system). 2) i can stay for the entire coming academic year and probably finish a minor (i'm thinking accounting). maybe throw in some bio research. at this point, i don't quite see a great advantage to graduating early, since i plan on taking a year off after college. i guess i just talked myself into staying, at least till after the coming winter quarter. pucking bio counselors, tell us to take all these classes our first 3 years, then come senior year i have nothing to do. all this time i coulda taken it easy and spread my classes out.
