yes, clarion dpx 11500 -
well i was driving all of a sudden the bass stopped i looked back to see all 4 subs "sucked" in so i shut down the power. (switched) remote The amp stayed on with subs still sucked in so i ripped out the speaker leads and the subs released, i then disconnected all power after i let the amp cool down reconnected power and tested with a dmm. results show 0 ac voltage and so i tried dc and got -93 volts wtf! any thoughts as to whats going on as the protection hasn't even tripped yet the fan doesn't fully engage now either. and there is definitely power coming from speaker terminals as it arced when testing(high power).

here a vid of what everything looks like. the bolts ripped right through the steel.

you can hate my honda all you want it makes no difference i know what i need at the track. i would not be getting the same wing althought it does mount to the same location. basically all i want to know is has anyone broke any carbon fiber peices with bass or the result of bass flex? You're going to run into the same problem. You didn't break the actual spoiler you broke the spoiler mount. Changing the material the spoiler is made of will NOT be beneficial. Carbon fiber is EXTREMELY strong, you probably wouldn;t break a normal fiberglass spoiler either though. Rethink this whole situation and attack where you actually have a problem. Reinforce the spoiler mount and you won't have a problem. well im gonna mak a quick video to show you guys exactly what it all looks like.

yes i realize that the stock spoiler does not give any down force, but i will be needed some as i know other racers that require them as well and i have felt the difference. i have brand new tires for the summer and more then enough experience driving. all i have been asking is for opinions on the strength and resilence of carbon fiber, i could really care less if you think i need a spoiler or that my car isnt fast enough. please all i need is your opinions on carbon fiber. let me guess you guys all love v8s right?

Agreed. Get rid of the spoiler because it looks really bad and get some sound dampening material. Flex videos are very uninteresting and show how little the user knows about what it takes to create high pressure in the cabin of a vehicle. I would also recomment getting rid of two of those subs and having a better box built. That one is janky as hell and couldn't possibly have enough volume to provide a semi flat response. i need a spoiler for the track for when there is no system in the back not to rice but to stick to the road as this is not just an average rice mobile. and the box is already 2 cuft larger then recommended. and everything from the doors back is dampened with aircraft sound barrier from my local airport.

this car does go to the track and a spoiler is very much needed when there is no system in the back.
-
what do you mean by how its made?
-
lol fair enough but the spoiler broke around the bolts. the bolts still have the plastic under them and are still tight it seems like it needs washers to spread the load, but i dont think it comes apart.

just broke off the spoiler on my 93 civic hatch with the bass, even caught it on tape. wondering if a new carbon fiber wing will last longer or if it will just break faster?

bass boost
Rozon420 replied to Rozon420's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Thats what i thought i have never used it in the past just had a couple of guys try to convince me otherwise. One question tho why have it on an amp if its so damaging anyways? -
im not too sure what bass boost is or how to properly set it. some of the people i know say i shouldnt use while others say it helps...please help i know probably a noob question.
