ttt Ok, so in my new (to me) vehicle, I am wanting some 5.25" for the front doors. I dont want a co-ax, just a true mid., as I already have tweets (factory infinity) at top of door. My door panels are CLOSE to the inner door, so I cant make a plate to mount a 6.5", and I dont want to cut the inner door sheet metal or door panel plastic...so..that is why I want to stay with 5.25". Anyone care to recommend a few? Should I look into some of the ones posted above, just in my size req.?

I LOVE that Riviera....drool........

Good luck Homie! The back door is tough to conquer. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I bout fell outta my chair on that one... congrats on the upcomming question..

x2 looks real good. Interested to know how those soundstreams sound..
-
ok then, here are the 6.5" comp. specs: FLS 6/25 6.5-inch Shallow Design Neo motor component drivers with alloy cones, 25mm soft domes, and premium high-efficiency crossovers. Special voice coil yields deep bass and quality sound. Mounting depth of only 42mm (1-5/8

10-4, my bad. Once I get home, I will pm the specs to yous guys
-
hahaaaaaaa just when you thought you had seen it all...wonder how much airspace the body has....
-
Yes, the NEXT dealer still has some speakers and amps left. I have 2 sets of NEXT 6.5" components, the shallow mount ones, that I am not using. I would be willing to let them go if you need them. For that matter, I have 2 of the 10" subs too. Can post specs if you need me to.

get some help lifting that one into your car!

interesting idea, but seems shipping would be pita.

Well, built this box this morning. Had nothing to do on my day off, so what that heck Should sound half way decent..I just hope the mcd1000d doesnt kill 'em....but for $18 each...I wont cry if it does let me know whachathink..
-
Im sure the mcd is giving it the powerit needs. These subs are 200w rms, and they are seeing 300w rms with the mcd @ 2ohms. Since I have a total of $50 in this box with the speakers included, I'll probably just donate it to a friend, and go back to my rl-p
-
acid's right, in this type of iso, the front chamber only needs to be big enough for the back speaker not to hit the front speakers magnet. I may have actually built it a tad too big. BUT, it does sound decent, just wont get real loud. BUT, then again, these woofers aren't made like the rl-p either...
-
Well, I like the way it looks and fits, but it just doesnt sound as good as my single rl-p The mcd is alittle much, I can hear the cones bottoming out?? I guess that is what I hear. Tried doing some adjusting, but it will in now way play as loud as the rlp. Sounds good at regualr volumes though, maybe not quite as clear, but I am no pro...I just know what I think sounds good. probably gonna switch back to the rlp though..

edit: Sorry, I meant to put this is the showoff section..could somebody move it for me.. yet another delivery today.. 2 pair Next FLS6, shallow mounts and 2- 10" subs. Whole package only set me back $116.00! The subs were only $18 each...so, what the heck, right? I still have the rl-p12 too! Now I need to get that vehicle...

I see this brand around alot online...are these interconnects gonna do my system justice? any personal experience out there...

what length is the port? I was wanting to run them sealed for space. Me and a friend threw together a front to back isobaric enclsoure a few years ago, and it sounded great. I was wanting to try the same with these. I am picking up the jeep cherokee this weekend, but didnt want to take up the whole back end with 2.6cf of box for 2 subs.
-
Scott, was your figure for 2 subs, or just one?
-
mucho thanks. I'll give them a shot and see how they sound!
-
well, I knew somebody would be able to..but, re-phrased, I would have said, would somebody be so kind as to figure a sealed box size for me! Z= 4 Re= 3.2 Pe= 200w fs= 26.6 hz Qms= 5.67 Qts= 0.23 Vas= 62.34 L Le= 2.41 mH Mms= 97.75 gr Cms= 0.37 mm/N Bl= 14.84 SPL= 88.8 db SD= 346 (cm2) Xmax= 2.4 cm thanks!

Cool, thanks for the info. I had a set of the ALC or ALS (whatever they were) other style speakers he was selling, and loved them. They were a standard type (magnet in usual spot). These were all he had left, so I figured, what the heck, the last ones sounded good. I will however do the grill cloth deal for the protection.

email this guy, name is Matthew.. [email protected] He sent me an email listing what he had left, and the prices. He has some 5.25" and 6.5" (as in my photo) left, so co-ax's, 8" subs, 10" subs and a few of the amps left too. The 10" subs I got are pulp cone, look like the o.g. solobarics.

..well...not sure about showing you the 'actual' unit, but, I will post up some installed pics in just a few days. ..and yes, it is the one you can use the SD card in. It came with a SD card, and USB adapter for your cpu. how kewl. Not bad for $280. 3 sets of 5v rca outs to boot!
