880prs or carputer?
CBFryman replied to pimpedout97x's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
VGA simply means it uses a VGA cable. (12-15 pin depending on what is needed). That means it uses the same connections as what your computer monitor uses. Really the only way to have a touch screen only using one cable. 10" should be fine if you use a program with a big 'button' As far as sound cards go, you dont have to get the absolute best, but I would reccomend a higher end one. I'm sure there are soundcards that have RCA outputs also, which is really all you need. You mostly want a card with good output quality, input is something you dont really care about because you will have USB/FireWire for other assesories. Where do you planning on mounting your monitor? Glassing it into the dash or perhaps the center concil. -

Unbiased speculation on the upcoming TC-SMT

It seems as if they are setting up for it to be more marketed towards the HT crowd to have an in wall subwoofer where enclosure volume isnt a big deal...just mounting depth. -
880prs or carputer?
CBFryman replied to pimpedout97x's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Because you are running an independant voltage system for oyur amps a carputer could work out great for you. Just a heads up, large touch screen if you plan on burping with the carputer. People say it is rather hard to hit a pause button on a touch screen with loud burps. If you need any help or have any questions let me know. -

A 1x meet would be cool and the end of October FTW!. -
Isnt the chassis design loosely bassed on the Elise? Or is that hear say? Either way they look good as hell.

I'd imagine so. May want to move up to a pair of 8" aero ports...I'm working on a good mold that is reusable right now.

DEI Announces Agreement to Acquire Polk Audio
CBFryman replied to Aaron Clinton's topic in General Audio
Heh, I'd like to pick up one of their nice componet sets. I'd just like a nice componet set. The girl teases me because I salivate over a $1200 Diamond Audio set at the local shop. Complete with actice Xovers and Mohogony (sp?) case with with purple velvet inside. -
OK, well I got lazy and got tired of doing the impeadance graph, I'll pick that up next week. INSTEAD! I did something even more funner! I grabbed my dad's cheapo Pyle amp, hooked it up and put these in 0.75cuft enclosures, disconnected the woofers inside the JBL's and placed the enclosures for the mids on the floor with the pyle only running them to 2,000Hz. I have to say these things do damn decent. They sounded nice and clear as far as clear midbass goes. Reletively loud as well. They didnt extend as low as I would like them to but the enclosure was proably way too large. Some noteable cons where beats in the 100Hz range where less intense. Not really noticable in anything but monotone rap beats but it was there. All in all, SQ wise, so far, these can not be beat for $16. Very compareable to my JBL's and these are sealed in chitty (ghettofied) enclosures where as the JBL's are in nice, ported enclosures to reenforce the low end. I'll get some pics this afternoon. If not saturday evening. I'm going out of town tonight and for most of tomarrow.

First off I would like to thank Mark for allowing me to test these at no cost to me. Ok Here it goes. Initial Impression: When I got off of work and walked around to my front door I saw a box that vaguely resembled an extremely used soccer ball. It was brown and taped up and kind of rounded at the corners. I quickly tore into it and got a peek at these things. I can tell you these are built to the highest of quality. No glue on the surrounds, the surround fits perfectly in the sunken surround landing. The bead of glue on the spider was even all the way around. They just looked high quality. Not fancy high quality like a Ferrari, high quality like a cleanly built RX-7 (not referring to them breaking all of the time because I

Looks sexy as hell. In the far future I am planning on doing a very low profile install in my truck and regain my back seats... as in next summer. I was thinking about glassing two 12's into the rear doors and using the door as the enclousre and port them. If these turn out to be good, They are a deffanite possibility as I only have 6" depth in the door. -

OK I finally have some dates. All of my saturdays are jammed packed with cross country. If we do a meet close to my house I am open to Sept 30th. Shawn Flemming said he will let us use his Term Lab if the date is kosher with his schedule. I'm going to run 9/30 by him and see if its good. How many people could make it to the Lake City or Gaisnsville area on 9/30? if we can get 10+ people I think we will shoot for that. -
NP: Take it to the house - Trick Daddy Slip an slide, get loose. Mo' punch than a bowl of juice.

The first few pics you couldnt really tell what it was untill you started taking shots from the back. I assumed it was an astro from the short ugly crammed enginebay.

But you would also go on vacation. I'm talking about taking a vacation and you just 'happened' to pick an SI Mag up while you where over. Round trip plane ticket would probably be $4-$500 through a nicer airline in a nicer seating section.
