help with crossovers

ok, i am helping you install all this Let me know. Also, I dont think I will be needing that 15" basket after all. I might but I dont know. If I end up not using it it's yours . Anyway, I am with M5. Going active would be ideal here. Soldering, let alone designing, a passive crossover would be more of a head ache than pluging some RCA's in, runing a wire or two, and twisting some knobs. On top of that a cheap active Xover will probably cost as much as all of the componets for a passive Xover that large. You could also reuse the active Xover. I dont know where you would reuse a passive Xover that large and complex. On top of that, going active means less voltage drop to your speakers which means slightly more power. -
hmmm. 50wx2@4 is easy. $100 for an alpine that is very clean and high quality. 200x2@4 on a budget is hard. None come to mind but i will keep my eyes peeled.

expensive as punching buttons Im not going to argue that fine tuning carbs is a very hard art to master. I Agree 100%. However just getting it to run decent takes a little know how and a screwdriver

Go ahead and send the Rl-i more power. it will break in naturally. low power for break in is a myth. I wish i had the time/patience to set up an awsome soundstage. Dont get me wrong my soundstage is above average, but it often slides off to the left and is lacking in the 60-100Hz area Of course right now i have no sound stage...just bass.

Tuning takes a screwdriver and troubleshooting is generally easy.

i asked mom if i could do an IB setup in my room. She says sure. I go grab the skill saw. She gives me a funny look and says "where are you going with that?" I tell her to cut a hole in my wall. She yells at me and asks if i am retarded.

x2 The nice thing about carburators is fixing fule problems takes little knowhow. Unlike fule injection where you need a code reader/computer/engineering degree. Please elaborate. I dont really understand. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He is kidding (i hope). Sealing up the gas leak with the caulk stuff they use to seal bathtubs (i think that is what he is talking about).
