OK, now this is just a give your opinion on this BS. A friend of mine has 4 JL w1v2 12's and a JL 500/1 ported. exact specs on the enclsure i have no idea. He i was talking to him yesterday and he said he drove up to the local audio shop which sapposeably has MECA certified mics. I dont know if this is Term Lab or not. i am assumeing so since that is the organization Alma gates comeats (or compeated) with. anyway, he told me he did a 149.2@ 55Hz. beleiveable but not BSable Today he calls me saying he went up there agian and did a bunch of runs. he averaged at 151.3...still beleiveable depending on the box. but then he goes on to tell me on a bass track song he did a 157.1 and it was held steady for 3sec. now he has some drycell battery and a 150a altinernator. huge flag went off in my head but what is your opinion on it. oh BTW it was installed by your usuall JL dealer, doenst really know the ins and outs of car audio. doesnt accept that there are internet companies louder than JL. and just plugs some specs into LEAP and then uses his $500 saw to make some cuts and glue them togather.

welll...not how eDuh was exposed a wile back...now a lot of people stay away form eD just because of that... and when it was exposed that eD uses the same manufacture ware house for one of their comps as one of CDT's compas...and then someone lookes into it....now they scream rebadgED...

the build quality of the subs waiting shouldnt be bad at all. the subs are built, they have no dust caps...its kind of hard to screw up a dust cap. it can fall off, sure, but you can glue it right back on no problem. either way if chad takes my money i will be pissed, i have 60days after charging to cancel the order and still get my money back if i dont have the product in my possession. at 59days after yesterday i dont have a tracking number that shows it has been shipped, the order will be canceled, it is simple as that. but i dont think chad would do that, he seems like a good guy on the phone. so far i have heard nothing but praise for chad and Ascendant and i am banking that i will be quite happy.

well im short of cash right now...just shopping not looking to purchase yet, i need to get some stuff paid for before i go buying an amp. but ty for the offer.

ptshhh....i should get some pics of my truck tearing up the sand pits by the rail road tracks in the middle of the night. its really cool because you ahve the head lights on and that is all you can see is the beams if you are outside of the truck. but w/e, RWD pwnz FWD...

ty for the reccomendation i was thinking a Hifonics BX 1500 which is said to do 1300w at 14.4v with a true 1ohm nominal. so since my truck sits around 13.5 and with impeadence rise i should have around 800-1000w which is sapposed to be perfect for these beasts. plus they can be had for around $250 which aint bad at all.

update. i got my 18 ORDERED. he said as soon as the dust caps come in and they slap them on there they will ship, they expect the 2nd week of june last week at the LATEST. that gives me plenty of time to get things togather with insureance and all. me=stadic right now. now i need to start shoping for an amp.

i dont know if they have any left. but i am damned sure gonna try all day today. peace, i gotta get to school..skool blows.

good news...i think ive talked my dad into letting me buy an Ava 18 tomarrow. if they have any left. and if i can get through. cheap shot or not im curious to this new tech. near same results as XBL with the new 6.5... im doubting LMT because from what i have read it hasnt been developed enough to have the sensitivity of XBL due to the extra moving mass and inductance. maybe it was developed by chad himself. in which case i give him major props. maybe it works similar to XBL only wiht enough difference to be called different than XBL by the US patent office to avoid confintation.

i really dont like what DW said. but no, not all XBL^2 drivers are equal...and AA NEVER marketed them that way. if you want to look at it in terms of XBL V Performance and cost. The Brahma has 28.5mm of Xmax and the Atlas had 18mm. the atlas 15 was also $160 and the Brahma 400+. the XXX 18 is $460 shipped to my door. the Ava 18 was $430 shipped. from Ava also has 5mm less one way Xmax. and Performance was said to be very close. granted XMAX DOES NOT DETERMINE PERFORMANCE IN THE END BUT IT DOES GIVE POTENTIAL DISPLACEMENT WHEN MULTIPLIED BY SD. However. Adire i moving up. i cant blame them for that. but i still think their MSRP's, even though they are just MSRP's, a little high. i will sit back and see how things blow over. if Ava 18 performance doesnt drop of much. then it will probably be an Ava 18 sitting in the back of my truck. otherwise i will have to look at other options. Noah now... fo' i bust a cap in your ass :gheychase: anyway. we went riding today. even with "crunk juice" playuing full tilt it was jsut past tickleing my ears, never even really had the want to plug them. really id say he is in the low 140's on a TL. no where near 157... ive sat in a 152db burp@45Hz and he isnt even near that. i called audiowaves (the place where he hit this 157) and they said they have MECA certified mics. but he wouldnt tell me for sure it was term lab. so it is probably what MECA was uging back int the late 80's or when ever they sterted out.

im not sure. like i said. i wasnt there. next time he goes down there i am going to go down there with him. Mind you this is a daily tuned set up. im geussing somewhere in the mid 30's tuning and the box comues up the the back of the seat. ive been in side it plenty of times...doesnt sound like a 150+ dB daily set up. and he has no way to change tuning 1 slotted port.

Well i got my RE comps from the SIN group buy a while back and it has just been these past 4 weekends that i have been working on making some tweeter pods....well actually like 2hrs of work total each day. i am finally up to paint...well here is a look back. Well here is the 2 molds. im not going to go into how to do this because there is already a thread filled with Fiberglass Tutorial Links Stickied. ya i know, the mat wasnt 100% saturated...old resin doesnt like to soak. Streching the fleece glassing the fleece a hole cut i know, not a good mounting andle by any means but we alerady discussed this for like 3 pages in a thread and the RE's have swivle mounts so i can utilize firing them at the windsheild or at me. however i like firing them at the windsheild because RE's are pretty harsh, even being silk domed. but if i ever get it EQed then i may want to spin the mabck towards me. and yes we even discussed "smearing" from refraction. I dun went muddin, but i didnt get my usuall stuff (i usually get the "good" bondo body filler but i figured for some make=shift tweeter pods id save a few bucks) and i mixed it too hot...it dried before i knew what had happened and so it isnt very smooth After 2 shets of 100 grit it is decently workable. so i moved up to 150 looking smooth, so i moved up to a quick 220 before primer a look after the 220 and a wipe down with 50% acetone and 50% methanol. i would have used tac cloth but i figured id save myself a few bucks and steal som stuff form my chem teacher. there are a few pin holes but i am doing 3 coats of primer so they should be filled in. one spritz of primer. not looking bad. a friend even commented that they look better than most of the stuff he has seen come out of the local JLaudio/MTX/Kicker/Sony Xplod dealer. of course when i tried to talk to him about companies like RE and Adire and SS and AA...he called it crap and i would never get as loud as a JL w713 or Kicker SoloX 15....we will see so there it is. dont be too harsh. not my best work.

well it could be. but if i was designing it i would design it for daily. then have another port that is the same length as daily, but just get a Mic and do a series of bups in 5Hz incramends, the loudest frequincy is what i then use for testing and 10 Hz above and below. then i would just take off a little bit of the port at a time untill SPL starts to drop off instead of increase with shortening. then look back at my recordings, the loudest length would be the length to make the SPL port. interchagebale is just what i would do. another option is that i may do when i do my sub stage. have a plexi window. when i want do do an SPL burp i plug my daily port then take out the plexi window and replace it with an SPL port....

will do, next weekends project. getting as much sound as possible out of this lmao. a $12 4x4 sheet of 1/2" plywood. glue screws and silicone...well i have plenty lying around the house. "200w rampage subwoofer" internally amped flea markey garbage. look at that beast of an amp...my crossovers are larger than that thing we will see what it will do when put in a properly ported 0.75 cuft enclsore tuned to 37Hz. and if im not happy i will put a sony 222 on it and when it blows i will sell the enlcosre for $35-40... after a quick carpeting or painting. since i have plenty of body filler, resin, and paint.
