Are they still based out of Gainsville, Florida? because i live like 30min away from there. Anyway their amps are the Porsche's of the audio world, lots of power and good performance...for a good price. a group buy would be nice but i already purchased a Hifonics BX1205D and i couldnt afford group buy prices, let alone MSRP... -

Rl-i looks like one hell of a sub, a single one in a good ported enclsoure would do in a hatch like a CRX, if you's like to try 6th order bandpass i can get you some plans we modled for an alpine type-s 8'' driver for a CRX for SQL, it wanged with only 300w. and it wanged like no other single 8' drive ive heard in that CRX. or at least it was loud inside, outside it was only moderate compared to otether set ups but that much just be the hatch amplification at work. anyway, it was a peaky responce but it had good low end for an 8. PM me or drop me an e-mail @ [email protected] and i will see if ican dig them up, of course different T/S params wont yeild identical results but you could give it a try. Also, if doing a dual 8" set up RE8's wang pretty hard and are cheaper than RL-i 8's. However if doing a dual set up you may as well step up to a singel 12 and save weight on the enclsoure.

What competition assocation do you prefer???
CBFryman replied to Aaron Clinton's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
MECA is teh suck and that is the only local...and they dont even od shows here...the clsoest is like an hour away. they just have 2 shops with MECA certified SPL stations and Mics who also sell membership or some BS... and with MECA i dont even know what Mics they use but a friend hit 157.1 with 4 JL w1v2 12's and 500w legal in the middle of the dash...and these are 2004 MECA certified mics But they allow open doors, windows, mics on the floor...no wonder their SPL #'s are way higher than dbDrag... or IASCA ive onl been to dBdrag competitions in daytona and one IASCA in live oak...for SPL dBdrag for sure...for either SPL or SQ IASCA for sure... -

i still like GM and their product but they try and scheme too much...corection, GM discount on the Tahoe was 8k but rebates droped by 6k leaving 4k in rebates but the dealership hear sells the vehicles with the employee discount with a set price, no negotiating and up to 2,000 in dicounts...which i dont blame them, they still have to make a profit...but my father still would have gained nothing either way.

Relays (Multiple Amplifiers)
CBFryman replied to Chevy350TPI's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would fuse your REM just to protect my HU...but other than that the HU's will blow before the REM wire carries enough current to melt the caseing...it is probably fused internally anyway. and the draw and amp had on an REM wire is slim, very slim...the REM's capasity should be able to handle a good number og amps before a relay is needed. -
Gains! What if my woofer is > my amp
CBFryman replied to psycho72's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
if you have access to one that can handle 1kw+ and thoes cost mucho denaro for us non rich (we are DIYers WTF to you expect... ) A Multimeter is the best way. www.JLaudio.com/tutorials -
Hate To Bust Your Bubbles... GM is playing the discount game...agian... Example... My dad was looking into traiding in the '03 trailblazer which is about to go out of waranty for an '05 Tahoe or Yukon. Before this deal came out the total dicount he could have gotten, all rebates included that where compadible with each other, was $6,000. Employee Discount is 2,000 Rebates are now down to $4,000 So you gain nothing 11k is on the new Cadilac or othercars that cost 80 grand so 11,000 off the top isnt going to hurt and you could probably get nearly equal in rebates...but thoes rebates ended just before this deal began... Propaganda to get rid of the '05 line up and get a good boost on the next modle year...if the discount lasts that long, im not sure... just a little FYI

i dont know about with Rl-P's but RE XXX's sound damn good and damn loud with 30-35Hz tuning but if you get much below that it gets bottom heavy and not as loud. And for Ava's, well lets just say i am tuning my 18 in the same are as you. If you want more SPL shorten your port you have now and just keep doing it untill you get desired results or it just gets to be tuned too high.

thoes DD mids are sapposed to be tah shiznet ya no hommie? My RE mids are pretty good and damn loud off of the stock HU. i saw your vids...pretty nice moving pennies on the roof like that. i need to figure out how to get vid loaded on my computer...after putting all thoes crappy speakers in one room in the post the comparison thread i had to blow at least one... so look out for "pioneer 6.5 v Sony Xplod 444 powerd buy PSU's" i played the intro to one of my friends songs who is an aspireing DJ, "DJ Loony" today i might get some audiobahn movement and play the whole song...its a pretty good beat. but...before you can see it i need to find my sofware

you can do it either way, but it all depends on the weight of your mat/glass. really you dont want more than 3 layres of 8oz mat and 4 layres of 6oz cloth at one time. much more and it will be a huge pain to get the resin to saturate all layres with an acceptible ammount of resin. Edit: However, you can do one layre and as long as it is still completely wet (hasnt relaly begun to cure) you can do another and so on but still, you dont want to get too thick our the middle and bottom layres will take forever to cure completely.
