Basically im not a Co Ax expert. I need one with clean highs, low end extension i dont really care abotu and try to keep it around $75 if yo ucan. i THINK i need 6x8's. as efficent as possible. They are for my GF's moms explorer, doing Co Ax's and a little ported 10. i want drop ins so i have as little fabrication as possible.

low 30's....going to do variable tuning i hope, wont get much of anywehre in dB Drag with low 30's -
Noah, you know me, i love Chaulk.... mmmMMMmmmgood. Pics = Fixed I would have used Aero-ports but my friend is cheap and yeah...he told me i dont need to bondo the seems i just need to paint it...i was like "its like $5 for a small can of bondo, that is all i need." he finally agreed to give my the extra $5, lol. two $14 ports would have sent him through the roof.

And it has 8" of clearance too, too bad you cant go any larger than 10's with it. Basically it ended up that i would just go around tapping it with a hammer and saying "it could use some bracing here" untill no matter where you tap it you get a short, high tap, not a thud. cant really brace any better than that. its heavy as a Bizotch too for a 2cuft box, used almost an entire sheet of MDF Anyway, its on the smaller side for the speakers it was built for which are 2 Kicker Comp 10's but low end output should be made up for for the lower than reccomended tuning (about 32Hz uncorrected and 29-30 after end corrections) and they are slot loaded so im hoping that does something for it. its the port is massive, 3.5x6.5... its going int a single cab Ram 1500

For a while no one was doing new brahma installs because...there where no new brahmas...now i have no idea how to get one if i wanted one because the nearest dealer is an hour away and all of the online deales i can find dont have any.
-
im wondering if 1 of these in liek 1cuft would be able to keep up with the kick drums and bass guitars with 4 Alpine Type S 5x7's....
-
people are still doing new Brahma installs... lol

Are thoes the color at the HU or at the speakers. that sounds like the pice of paper i printed out but it was incorrect.

'94 ford explorer, its right on the page i printed out. on a lighter note. Walmart's Sosche harness worked (minus the ground) Also, CDT makes coax's?

the12volt.com SUCKS MAJOR BALLS, i just installed her head unit for her, pritned out the page for the vehicle, the wiring for hte speakers is compeltely wrong. i had to do geuss for 1hr and it still isnt 100% right but all 4 speakers are getting music and it isnt over bassed or extremely distorted (not that you can tell, the speakers are on their way out the door, when i install everything im gonna plug them all up, along with my stock speakers, in series and then give them a healthy 120v)

MMkay Ive Got It 2 Pairs of Alpine Type S 5x7's Assassin 10 1cuft ported@ 30Hz Hifonics 4chanel amp, 2 bridged for the assassin, 2 for the front speakers rear speaks will be powered by the HU $365 including enclosure. i dunno what to charge her since she was freaking awsome and gave me $70 in advance to isntalling her HU so i could buy a DEI 1100D Refurb.

correction 5x7's i think (its a '94 Explorer, not expedidtion) and how about these. remember, untrained ear, not worrying about low end responce. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=15812

Remember this. The higher the tone at a given ammount of movement the faster the cone has to move. Also remember that when you are accelerating an object form 0-300m/s in a matter of say 5" there is a LOT of force on it. assumeing that you are trying to get loud from sonic booms and not actually the tone it would also be usefull to make the "cone" as arodynamic as possible. and inverted dusctap that covers the entrie cone would be optimal. remember what a sonic boom is too. its where the soundwaves get build up and built up untill the object is actually moving faster than the sound itsself and then the pressure from the built up waves is all released at once. wether a sonic boom would happen in a piston type confiuration i have no idea. Here is an example. im not sure how to figure out cone velocity but if i am doing this correctly at 80Hz you would have to have 158.4" of total linear stroke. a 250g mms would need around 6500 N of average force w/o taking into account pressure buildup on the cone. it would also have over 2600 times the force of gravity on it. this is assumeing i calculated cone velocity correctly

OK so it isnt a NASCAR truck but it feels brand new, has a better pep in its step, runs a lil smoother, takes off a lil easier, feels like its trying to pull in 3rd gear . Sure it isnt by the seat of your pants faster...but i can feel the extra power. and is sounds hella good too Before (it starts out 5ft away form the tail pipe and moves to the interior) http://media.putfile.com/VOICE00121 and after (starts with the engine running and cuts, starts up agian and moves to the interior) http://media.putfile.com/VOICE00256 Even if i had paid the $240 it was well worth the money, i got it installed in less than 2hrs and the biggest PITA was getting the stock exaust off of the hangers with out removeing the hangers (not removing the hangers made putting the new exaust on a breeze). as far as i can tell there are no leaks but i think the bigger pipe made the rubber flange seal singe a little. Just like Gibson said the majority of the power increases are felt between 2000 and 4000 RPM. So far thats all ive gotten for Xmas... we are opening the rest of the presents when my brother and sister in law get here. then all the others tomarrow when all the rest of the family and my GF are here.

Brad nails are teh shizzle.

RE 8's bottom out because they are efficent and LOUD little bastards. If they had a bottomless design they would be 11,000 times better, they new ones may, i dont know.
-
TB 8's, i know they where in the Great 8 challenged but i dont feel like looking it up on SIN (CSO) so how do they compare as a drop in for the OLD RE8's? i may be in for 4 also, how would 2 of them sound in a wicked one with 100w for HT
-
You should have stuck him on the windsheild and put colod lights on the outside and lt him bob back and forth made it look like he was on a lighted dance floor, lmao.
-
Ok, Got the 4 RE8's in my friends truck, he likes them, a lil port noise, but he likes them. but he wants something that drops lower. i plainly asked him when i was deigning this one if he wanted it to drop low... he said he doesnt care about low notes...he just wants loud. hence the 36Hz tuning. now he wants low and louder...and hes had it a whole 4 days with the gians set correctly. He is thinking about a JL w7 13 sine he wants something that will sound good, get loud, and drop low off of the 500/1 he has. i immediatly though of a list of driver fitting the bill without going cookie cutter w713. in come RL-s 12. My question is, what kind of enclosre for car and what kind of #'s can i expect in an extended cab GMC 1500. we are going to get him metered sometime soon so that will give you a reference point.

Oh, and this proves to me that there are better ways to acheive what LMT acheives w/o 80db 1w/1m.
-
Yes. Any you can't strap JL amps foo... I had Two MTX 1501d's strapped on it...and 2ohms each...and that was where it needed to be. NG <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmm, oh and you can link JL's togather , not actually strapping but yeah. I didnt realize it was this inefficent. Which is kinda funny that it is a HT driver because the ammount of money you would have to spend on an amp for it to reach its full potential wattage wise would be massive. 2kW HT amps arent cheap. oh well, thought i would get to play with the beast. Any other suggestions. once agian w713 performance, 500ish dollars or so and power is either one or two JL 500's. This kid likes nothing but JL amps and he has the money for them so more power to him.
-
it's reallt THAT inefficent? 500w is nothing to sneaze at (though i know you all ready know this) What about two 500/1's strapped? 900w is in the recocomended RMS

You can halfway maybe count me in on one. if that is still possible. when is payment needed (i didnt feel like reading the WHOLE thread)
