24V amp possibilites?
CBFryman replied to Tirefryr's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Hmmmm, pretty sure it wont work this way but 2 amps wired in series? throwing an idea out there. -
Modified Wicked One?

is trutech still around? i cant seem to find their site. Man did they make some badass amps.

2000w@4ohm? holly molly.

http://www.aaroncake.net/circuits/amp20w.htm Figured a small lead acid 12v battery or a bunch of D batteries wired in cseries/parallel for a power supply , MP3 player as an input and $8 walmart polypropelen speakers. going on my sunfish in the Show Off Section. wakebaording is easy....once you learn to get up and relax while riding w/o falling down. Its a lot of fun if you have sliders (rails) and ramps and/or can do stuff off the wake. Even mroe fun at cable parks like Orlando Watersports Complex. Anyway, though 20mph or 70mph is fun. Something about 15 knts with no sound but the wind and water
-
heh i wakeboard, something about...wakeboarind...lol. I laught at all who say wakeboarding and surfing is for pansies who cant take pavement... of all the baord psorts surfing is the most dangerous and wakeboarding has the most knee, back, and gash/puncture injuries. I love sailing though. but fast is better. sunfish = pansy boat. i can sail a Hobie Cat by myself. I know how to sailwith a Jib too. but oh well.

i want a Hobbie Cat, so much faster and so much more fun. But hey, i take what i get free.

Lead plates on the inside of the enclosure... adds mass to the walls to lower resonance and sheilds electromagnetic feilds.

geuss there arent too many sailors here. I would have expected to have been bashed for liking such a small, slow, old boat.

oh and speaking of marley. i love spencers

looks awsome. Makes me want to deff build one for my GF's car.

I vote we track the bastards down and kill them just like they killed a car that can never be replaced. Ferrar made 399, no more no less. at the rate these things are going down the drain... we will loose all but like one in a museum. Seriosly. If you cant handle it dont take it to thoes speeds. as a mater of fact, if you cant handle it at thoes speeds you can handle it under acceleration and shouldnt even own the car. Driving a car modled after an F1 car isnt like driving a road car made fast. You couldnt get me to drive one of thoes things around the block with out extensive experence with Porsche 911's, M3's, NSX's, Maranello 550's, etc.. on the track. I think that me killing one of theos things would rest heavier on my soul then killing a human, lol.

I know I have a car audio addiction when......
CBFryman replied to Aaron Clinton's topic in General Audio
I got two good ones. -When you hear someone bassing out simply to draw attention... And you can just roll up your window and turn it up louder than them, but not disturb anyone around. And one more, The best so far..... When Your Garadge Looks like this 98.5% of the time. -
oh and that new sizuki hatch looks pretty sweet, looks like it would be good for getting loud too.

good mono amp for my 12's?
CBFryman replied to natedizzle's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
give them 1600w total (about 800w each) and you will be alot happier. SPL wise anyway. seems the louder you get with audiobahns the worse they sound. BX1605D would be a good choice. -
oh and with that DMM you need to measure resistance

Never Heard of Them!! R THEY GOOD?
CBFryman replied to KeeEnterprises's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
And the only reason the Flat Cones where so good was because the whole working motor came straight from TC sounds. -
well chit, i just thought of this, putting the speakers inside of the line, instead of acting as a closed end of a pipe, would make it an open pip and have to be 1/2 a wavelength to acheive the desired 1st resonance wouldnt it.

I'm no expert here....but this is my take on it; It has a lot to do with how the amp was designed to make it's power; high voltage (into a high impedance) or high current (into a low impedance) Take two amps; one makes 1000w @ 1ohm, the other makes 1000w @ 4ohm. sqrt(1000*1) = 31.6V 1000/22.3 = 31.6A So, the 1000w amp at 1ohm needs to make 31.6V, and 31.6A. sqrt(1000*4) = 63.2V 1000/63.2 = 15.8A The 1000w @ 4ohm amp needs 63.2V, but only 15.8A of current. Since toroids are (IIRC) used to ramp up the voltage, you could see that even though they make the same power, and could even be the same class, they would use two totally different toroid sizes since amp B needs twice as much voltage. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This explanation x eleventeen Though i dont know much at all about amp design or circutry, it makes scence.

see the other thread, where the Idea came from... Mom = crumple and die to these, now i need to jack two more stickers and i dont go back to work untill wed.
