Costco has a Western Digital 250 GB 2.5" ext. hard drive for dirt cheap ... Works pretty well, too ... I'm banned from Costco. Long story. All this talk about HD's crapping out makes me realize I really need to back up my work. Do you just plug them in (USB?) and drag and drop files on them? Or do you do some sort of entire system backup and that gets saved on the external?

I need an external hard drive so I can back my laptop up ... I have quite a few things I need at work on it.

All of the SIGG bottles on Amazon ship from various other online retailers.
-
What were the stock ratings? I think it varied slightly by year ... 15.4 or so?
-
Thats odd, I've found lots here and I've never looked for them. Have you tried online, amazon.com has some. Nothing locally. SIGG makes nice bottles, but their website does not ship to Canada. Amazon.com carries them, Amazon.ca doesn't

I cannot believe how difficult it is to find an aluminum water bottle here.

What program lets you configure your desktop like that?

As in your CTS? Hey, I'm not sold on it ... yet.

Added to the list: - individual who brings a five course meal to class and eats it in front of everyone. Foods include crunchy apples and nuts, along with smelly fish, etc. - the f!cking clone ... comes and visits me two or three times every day to talk about weightlifting or sports - I call them the health disaster. Box of Kleenex and four bottles of Advil in front of them, there they are snorting and sneezing all class. Stay at home and I'll e-mail you the notes. - the nodder. I'm looking eight rows back and this person still thinks I'm speaking directly to them and feels the need to nod and confirm what I'm talking about. - rich bitch. Comes to class in her lululemon pants, headband, tank top, and equipped with her gigantic purse. Usually travels in packs with other rich bitches.

Booked the truck in for service on Tuesday. I will be able to spend some time with the CTS then.

Couple sheets of MDF and whatever finishing material I choose is going to be cheaper than the $3200 workcentre they gave all of us at work.

I can't find a desk that I like anywhere, so I think I may build my own this summer if I have the time. I'll put a hutch on it and design some sort of built in speakers and sub. I wish I had the time to do it now.

Sounds good to me!

Grew up driving in the snow and do a ton of winter driving through the mountains. No problems for me. The locking feature you're referring to on your Lumina is a piece of crap. I absolutely hate it - one little patch of ice and the car decides to go completely ape shit.

That reminds me, I need to get out my heatstrip shortly and bend some plexi for some crossovers. wait, you have a method of forming plexi? I use my heatstrip and bend the piece over blocks of wood that are cut at different angles. The side of a bench will work fine for a 90* bend - just make sure to mark the piece at both ends so you can line those lines up with the edge of the bench or block ... it'll keep your bend straight and not diagonal. Let it sit on the heatstrip too long and it'll melt, too short and when you go to bend it the piece will snap at the joint or not bend at all. I have used 1/8", 3/8", 5/8", and 1/4" thick plexi/acrylic on it.

Those look great, Jim!

Even with a couple options added, they both fit comfortably in the budget. We've been looking for a couple years, the past one year very seriously at something fullsize, safe, in the budget, practical, well-rounded, good on the highway, able to handle harsh winters, and something that isn't going to have major problems in a year or two in which I have to shell out big bucks. This is why I am a little hesitant to get another GM ... If I don't get the BMW, I'm in big trouble ...

I'm sure DigiKey has eighty million different colors and sizes Have you read any tutorials on it? Seems fairly easy ... I am just trying to remember where I last seen one written up nicely.

What do you mean it might do what kicker wants it to?? See original poster's username. -
To be honest, I'm sure you'd be just fine with regular LEDs.

I have a student from each 'group' this semester. - girl with airport luggage type backpack on wheels - dressed in all black with tears drawn on their face - mom of two kids who tries to relate everything I say to the kids and the past 40 years of her life. Always has a question, and never puts her hand down. - one individual brings a purse, a backpack, a travel bag, an umbrella, and probably their groceries and four other pairs of shoes to every class - the furious note taker. Frantically pounding away on their laptop trying to get every word down. - the douchebag who sits at the back of the class and replies to my questions with snide remarks. - opposite of the douchebag, I call her the General. No matter what I say, this 18 year old apparently has more experience in the field and believes everything I say is wrong. - Touchy McFeelerson. Can't keep her hands off of me during a conversation. - a couple individuals who I call "Mr. and Mrs. I did one year of school in Africa and developed my own religion" ... who start every sentence with "When I was in Africa ..." - bert and ernie who sit in the back of the class and NEVER turn their cell phones to vibrate or off. - the grade assasin. No matter how I graded the paper or exam, I didn't do it correctly. - the computer science and math double major. Showers maybe once a week. - the Texan. I cannot understand a word you're saying. Quit making your accent thicker than it really is, I have been to the States and know what it sounds like. - the person who asks questions about the exams on the first day of class. "How many marks? What types of questions? How long do we have?" Read the course outline. - the cheater ... I'm not an idiot - I know you don't need a TI-83 for a course like HIST 4xxx; and - the activist. I will build the largest diesel truck I can, just for her.

I was going to make a joke about your hair being more of a distraction than the blue LED swap, but I refrained. Until now.

Yes, and that is why they come with a dimmer knob From the studies I have read, it seems to require a medium to high intensity light for long durations. This isn't the case with you and driving, I am sure.

From a physiological standpoint, there have been numerous studies suggesting that blue light can damage our eyes. Blue light can damage the cells of the retina, which can eventually lead to macular degeneration. Just recently have there been a couple studies popping up stating that blue light is fine for your eyes, but they do not appear to have any consistent or convincing evidence justifying their reasonings. Nevertheless, you are probably correct in saying that a faint blue light on the dash of a vehicle would be fine. If it is fairly bright and you are looking at it quite often (lots of night driving), it might cause problems down the road. If the light is that bright, however, I would be worried about being pulled over and written a ticket first.
