Right there ... oh yeah. Will be running ~ 1000 watts. I'll make the enclosure fairly large - can always take away airspace if need be. It'll be sealed this time around (no way I'm going to try and figure out a port), question remains ... how big ? - Steve

Nick, You know the little Bondo brand package with some resin, matt, and a little application knife ? Canadian Tire 8 hours from me in Calgary has it for $12 or $14. Here, same store (Canadian Tire), it's $24 ... exact same product A gallon of resin at the local auto parts store is about $55 USD, $70 Canadian. The other 4-5 stores don't even carry it. We have one of the nicest lakes in BC about an hour away, the marina there ... doesn't sell it. Cloth at Canadian Tire was either $4 or $7 per yard ... So I can get 2 gallons of resin in the US for $50, which still comes in just under $65 Canadian bucks. This is why I'm searching my ass off for stores down in Spokane, WA ... about a 2 hour drive - they've got Home Depot, which I'm sure is where I'll end up purchasing 90% of the materials anyways. $25 / gallon vs any cheaper anywhere else, is much better, especially when you easily need 4 gallons I think packages of matt are like $5 at Home Depot --- online I've found it 33" wide x 1 yard for $1.60 I think ... I don't know how much you get in the $5 pack, so I can't figure out which would be the better route. Can't buy resin off of the net ... Hazmat fee and border fee would bring the price right back up again so I wouldn't be saving anything whatsoever. Sorry for blabbing on, - Steve

Phoenix Gold Octane-R 30.0:1 would be a decent match too I guess. BTW, a gallon of resin here is about $55 USD ... pretty sweet, not - Steve

In March, you'll have more than enough pictures ... If I can find a good deal on either of the MTX's, I'd go with one of those. Only thing I'm stuck on is ... should I go with 750 @ 4ohm with room to upgrade or 1000 @ 1ohm right off the bat ... I mean, I probably wont be getting another sub for a while - so I think I'll go with just the 1000 @ 1ohm. Found out the local marina doesn't sell fiberglass stuff - how retarded is that ? Hone Depot - ~$25 / gallon Anywhere else - Any cheaper ... Any cheaper is good, especially when you need 3-4 gallons EASY. - Steve
-
Yeah I'd prefer something that does more than 750 at 4ohm but whatever ... guess I'll have to go with 1000 x 1 @ 1ohm. - Steve
-
I was thinking more along the lines of: MTX 81000D MTX 1501D RF 1501bd ^Would work good for a pair, if I decided to go with running it at 4ohm for starters. Orion XTRPRO 1000 HiFonics BX1000D etc for 1 sub. Ah well, whatever I can find at the time I guess. - Steve
-
Thing is, I'd love to get another Magnum sometime. So, I could get a 1000 x 1 @ 1ohm now, and get another one later. Or look for an amp that does 1700-2000 @ 2ohm and run the single Magnum at 4ohm. Probably just go with a HiFonics BX1000D ... does it's job, and it's cheap. - Steve

SQ car ... sort of. Imaging isn't that much of a concern. As long as it sounds decent. I think I'll make two seperate rings, one for the mid and one for the tweet and go from there. - Steve
-
Drivers side ... enough room for the mid right where the foot rest is, may be enough for the tweet too. Passenger side ... plenty of room for the mid in the area right by that plastic bolt. Paper template baffle in place. Similar to real life size (tweeter would be moved closer to the mid). Drivers side. Drivers side again. Trying to show where the mid could go. Passengers side ... looks like barely enough room if the tweeter was moved up. Closer view of passenger side ... should be ok on this side if I move the tweet closer I guess. Spring project ... fiberglass box for the (Magnum D2) most likely. Should turn out ok. If it turns out that there is too much airspace I'll add some guts to it to bring it down. - Steve

Thats looks good man - my little lady has an 03 awaiting an install ... nice cars - Steve

I was thinking of doing door pods ... but, the window crank gets in the way. Any further back so it won't hit the crank would mean it fires into the seat. I'm thinking of maybe doing the mid in the kick and the tweeter up top somewhere. I dunno, we'll see. - Steve

Little help here ... If I double click on the Setup.exe in the WinZip window, it tells me: "Cannot Install: SETUP or INSTALL program filename contains folder information. Use Actions/CheckOut instead." I extracted the file, tried to open it, and it tells me: "Set-up is unable to find installation languages in (bunch of crazyness). Error 105". EDIT ~ Nevvvvvermind got it to work - Steve

Yeah that's really helpful. Especially at CarAudio.com when you browse through and end up skipping over all of the threads anyways. - Steve

Yep, it's underrated as usual. Seen a bench test once, just can't remember what it did off the top of my head. And yes, I'm a posting machine - 10K comes easy to me. - Steve -
well you know you can only keep it if you keep that Avatar You know that isnt going anywhere - Steve
