Time to cook up some buffalo

I got a laptop a couple years ago and now I primarily use it at work or for work-related things. So, now I am looking for something else. No games, no movies, little music ... mainly used for Word/Excel documents and surfing the internet. 17" screen would be great. Price range - somewhere around $1500? Anyone have any suggestions? I have been completely out of the game since I bought mine two years ago so I am unsure as to what is regarded as the best right now. Is it still down to the whole AMD vs. Intel Core 2 Due thing? To be honest I have not looked around much, but I was wondering if anyone had anything off the top of their heads. I will get some model numbers up soon for specific opinions.

Laptop Suggestions

I am seriously considering that HP James linked. Staples is great as I do enjoy the extra warranty you can pick up. Going to see if I can find it in-store tomorrow. Thanks for all of the suggestions guys - I really appreciate it. -
I understand, right now I live in Alberta!

Got owned at the gas station today by the gas prices. $1.214/litre is f!cking stupid ... I remember when it used to be $0.55/litre and we bitched when it got above $0.60. Edit ~ $4.25/gallon?

That is a great show.

Inferno red crystal pearl. No one likes the divided one eh? Everyone has #1 (probably because it looks the best ... imagine that) ... so I kind of wanted something different. It is still at the top of my list ... also happens to be the cheapest.

I just completely forgot what I was going to type.

Pneumonia is ridiculous - I hope you get better soon. Glad you went to the doctor when you did and didn't wait any longer.

A car parked in front my my neighbors driveway for thirty seconds while they ran into a different house and the guy comes home, sees the car, pulls onto my front lawn, and starts screaming out his window assuming it is someone at my house.

Sean ... the Life Fitness should have some LeMond indoor group cycles ... give one of those a shot and see if there is enough adjustment for you to fit on it - you and your wife may enjoy it as it is quite a smooth ride. I can't use the LF elliptical models we have either. I forgot to mention before ... Life Fitness has a great certified pre-owned program. If you were to go that route try and have them give you the maintenance record as you can base your decision off that alone.

Maybe I will wear apple bottom jeans and boots with tha fuuurrrrr tomorrow ...... Or maybe my baggy sweat pants and the Reeboks with tha straaaapppp ...... My oh my what music has become. I play AOL radio in the gym a lot because they have some decent classic rock stations. Usually get requests for pure dog shit though.

If I were to go pick up that Hoist unit, I would shoot for around $2000-$2200. Life Fitness just got $55,000 from me as I ordered six new treadmills. We deal with Life Fitness, Hammer Strength, and a couple other brands based on what we have dealt with in the past number of years in terms of equipment quality. Just FYI, for the comparable cable unit from Life Fitness ... my cost would be about $1500-$1700, retail being $2800+ negotiable to about $2200.

Dead in here tonight. First real day off in four months and I wound up spending it doing everything around the house that needed my attention ... for the past four months.
