components are just a separate tweeter and woofer with a crossover. one of the positives of comps are you can place the tweeter whereever the heck you want them to get hte best sound stage.

yes i just modified the box to day to fit the correct size to ship. i'm gonna ship it express just because it took so long to get out.

you didnt touch too much on the sound quality....how was the response on the 2x kicks and the changing bass lines?

If you want to get quality stuff, you gotsta pay for it. overhead is your friend man... well if you can afford it lol. but just go with the 1000w, no real experience with the icon, just i like to go with power ratings. but like i said, overhead is good. edit: IMO its better to have a quality 1kw amp than a crappy 1.5kw amp

YES. in my experience with usamps, 300w from a low end usamps 4 channel outperformed a viper 1200d, all external variables the same. and im sure that the sundownz performs the same as well. The bass was snappier, smoother, clearer, and actually louder. but if you can't afford it, what can we do? what is your budget anyways?

if you are within driving distance of a dealer, by all means do the dealer. you get to see someone face to face, and they will take care of all your needs (unless they are jerks ) in person. for you an MD1, MD2, an XT4000D would suit you well. warning: if you use the knu kit, the turn-on wire with the rca's suck. i tried it twice and both times, the amp didnt turn on. run a separate wire.

an 18" RL-P i was gonna go with a beefy 12" but i said to myself, what the heck....ill just go bigger! i need to save up the money first, then I will pull the trigger. Its going into a 4 cube sealed box, powered off an MD1D giving it oh, around 6-700w. (let me know if any of this sounds like it will not be good) couple of questions: 1. Can i have it with the laser etched logo + sig (cuz i heard that the laser thing is for a small run) 2. going from a 1.7 cube tuned to 34 hz 12" to a 4 cube sealed 18" will i be missing low end even if it is a 18" sub 3. will 6-700w be enough to get the sub moving good? thanks! woot! im glad its gonna fit.

the two 4" ports would have to be 33inches long apeice, and also that takes the net cubes to 1.59cubes. is port noise the only by product if a 4" doesn't work? this is in a trunk car. of course i dont hear crap in the cabin...but when i open the trunk it sounds naaaaasty

i used 2 3" flared ports for my rl-p and i still got port noise. i would even go larger like 2 4's or soemthing.
