good amp for three 10 inch FI SSD's
bassahaulic replied to mattwalter85's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Most amps 1500rms and over don't have fuses on the amps. They use an external fuse somewhere along the power wire. If yous staying at 1500rms, then two Yellow Tops and a 220 would be fine for it. NEVER use a capacitor, all they do is put more of a strain on your system. Unless you just want to use it as a Volt Meter lol. -

Thank you. I need more power..... Alot more power.

I use a Kenwood radio, with a 4v output and the amps seem to like it.

Yeah, It is Put On by Young Jeezy slowed down alot. The truck loves the lows.

Build is going great, I re did the trim plate with thicker MDF, made a battery tray, and a amp rack . I had to re build one of the 18"s so it will be done Friday and I will be picking up my other 18" as well. So I will probably have some TL numbers on Friday. If not then on Saturday.

Sorry lol comp was acting up and smileys looked stupid I know this is all fun :-D

Better be tuned hella low to make claims like that. If you want, I can rebuild everything tuned to 62Hz and call it done.
-
He's just selling it cause he knows my Ram will be louder.
-
I like my RE MT 18"s, They sound pretty good and get deceltly loud on 1,000rms each. But I have also seen MT's take 3500-4000 rms each on music and sound pretty good.

So you screwed into the cab itself??? I'm confused...... ***on the other note... my current box was louder with a single woofer and an open woofer-hole than my test box was... it did 145's without the second woofer being in the baffle... (at a much higher frequency.. like 62-63hz...) I've had my son for a few days so I haven't gotten anything done... if I try to build he wants to help.. He's super clumsy and doesn't mind when you're not looking, he'll just turn something on and try to use it... (wether it be a saw, sander, ect... if dad can do he can... or he thinks...) He starts school next week so he'll be back with his mom and I'll be back to playing. Yup, screwed from inside the box into the back wall. Why was the woofa not there?

my cab hits the bed of the truck while it's playing--I'm going to make a rubber "gasket" to keep it from touching.. not to mention that the topper is getting smacked as well.. there's no paint left where the topper is close to the cab... just get the baffle sealed off from the rear of the truck and you shouldn't have any issues... Well with the woofers I am buying, one is brand new re-cone and one is a few weeks used. So i put the new in already, to loosen it up, with the other hole covered up. Even already it's louder and lower then any other setup I have ever had. lol With all the screws I put into the back wall It's no moving at all

Happened last night, with about 4 hours of work. It feels pretty sturdy but I will find out when I put the woofers in. All I'm worried about is the back wall.......... BTW not trying to steal you thread rushrun Why not get some all thread and go from front to back? Oh and how thick did you make the back wall? I don't need to really. It's double layer 3/4" MDF all the way around. Resin all over the inside. It's it VERY srtong. The box won't flex AT ALL I mean the back wall of my truck hah

Buddy of mine had his two RE MT 18"s on 8,000 watts held in with screws and they were mounted vertically. They held until we decided to take them out.
-
I should have the first MT 18" on Friday
-
See. Now you know, you only need about 400 watts there son. 400? lol I wouldn't mind 4,000

let's see it what ORG are you building for? each one needs a different design to be loud at the mic location.. sealed on the dash is way easier/louder than the meca headrest score... 2-3db louder... I haven't metered mine on the dash but I'm sure it does a pretty little number. I am building it for USACi's Street Beat...... but mostly for daily driving and pounding.
