Since your already interested in the Alpine, I would go ahead and get that. It is a very nice amp. You should never use a cap, but if this is going to power you whole system you might want to get a small battery for the trunk, Kinetik 600 maybe? Just to help with storage, cause I have seen a PDX 100.4 dim the lights in a truck pretty bad.

Check and make sure your box isn't falling apart. Or, that your box is rattling against anything.

caps
bassahaulic replied to [email protected]'s topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Caps are designed to stabilize an already beefy electrical. If you have NO drop, then a cap can be used to keep the voltage at the same point without dips and rises by a few 1/10th's. But if you have voltage drop, then a cap is useless. -

Just get in touch with DC Power, they will probably have what you need. You could always run 350 amp alt -
Wiring Questions
bassahaulic replied to jcarter1885's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have all three types of wire. From what I can tell, the Knu wire has more stands then the Kicker, which is second, then the welding cable with the lowest count. I haven't had any issue with any of the wire, all seems to let power flow easy with little resistance. Although, the welding cable is MUCH stiffer then the Kicker or Knu wire. -
I personally love my SAZ-2000D. I think it's one of the better "2000" watt amps around. In the battery area, you would be happy with the HC2400 or the D3100. I plan on switching to all XS Power soon though, just all depends on preference. I'm looking to run high 15v daily, and I have seen the D3100's do this. So those are my choice. And I have never seen a "2600" they have a "2400" and a "3800". O_o In the Alt area, DC Power has show VERY promising things so far. And are also my alts of choice. I have noticed that the DC Power alts are slightly cheaper then the other big name company alts. I used Kicker 1/0 for my main run to the back, Fosgate 1/0 for my Big 3, and Welding cable from rear batt to amps. And I haven't had ANY issues with voltage or anything like that.

Get in touch with DC Power, they have 350-375 daily alts. And a 400 amp alt in the works. I am looking into the 375 myself. x2!!! The DC's I am looking into do 160+ at idle as well

Being 17 has nothing to do with someone's knowledge of car audio. I know some 16-20 year olds who are completely retarded and some who are very intelligent. I used to think just because I'm 17 and know a good bit that i'm just the shit. But I realized that age doesn't matter and I needed to grow up.

I really like my Pioneer Premier D Series 6x9"s, In the last system I had 4 behind my head and they sounded amazing, and in this truck I have a set in my doors and they sound amazing as well. They have a slik dome tweeter with great mid-bass and mid-range reproduction. And they are pretty cheap for how good they are IMO. Each set can be had for less the $100.

Just thought I would throw this out there, the woofer is acctaully a quad coil woofer, as most big woofers are. With every 2 coils wired together to make it a DVC woofer. There is a guy out here who runs 4 small amps per woofer in his truck, so he has 16 amps on 4 woofers. And he has NEVER had a problem blowing up woofers. I see what he's saying. He's not saying don't put two amps a woofer. He's saying don't let two amps not linked together on the same woofer. As they would produced different signals, EVENTUALY leading to failure.

Your not a Q buyer, and I don't think the SSD would get as loud as you want, you would much more enjoy the BL or BTL line.

Any news? I haven't gotten a response from any of my phone calls about the status of my build... I wouldn't hold your breathe waiting for anything from him.

Danger in having too powerfull Alternator?
bassahaulic replied to Frostedflakejake's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I mean, take a look at Steve Meade. Has 1300 amps of charging, and for a few weeks had no extra batts or beat and no video's of his truck blowing up or anything. Just saying though. -
Electrical help

So, you have 300 rms and are cooking alts? There is an issue with the car. -
That's voltage drop good fellow. Vehicle charges at 14.4, if your not at 14.4 then you has drop. And unless your alt is making more power then your using, then you has drop as well.

ALOT of people here in Louisiana run RD. And after seeing his shady business practices I will NEVER buy anything from him. The only thing i would run that's RD, is the D9, since it's not HIS board design anyway.

I live in Louisiana, I know all about hot weather. And my amps never get to hot to touch.
