um im not exactly sure. i can get those measurements tomrw. why would you reccomend the BL over something like the Xcon. Doesnt the Xcon get lower, louder, and sound better?

So right now i have a 15" Q in a 4 cu ft ported box... sometime late this year or early next year i was thinking of upgrading to either another Q so (2) 15" Fi Q's or (1) 18" Xcon? What do you guys think about this? I am willing to pretty much give up my whole trunk so basically i want some SQ but more focused on getting loud... i like the lows ALOT... i want enough SQ so i can listen to some real rap and underground stuff that has quicker fast hits so i want to be able to listen to stuff like immortal technique and be able for it to sound good... but want to listen to jeezy and be loud as chit... so basically compromise between the two but more focused toward being loud. I have a few people intrested in my current setup so i can sell my amp (sundown 1200D) my sub (15 Q) and my custom made box... so i can sell all that and put some more money on top of that for the new system... for the amp depending on what the sub(s) i get can handle probably a sundown 1500D or maybe 2000D if i need it... then for the sub ill spend no more than $400-ish. Then ill get a custom ported box. First i just want ideas for what subs i should get... 2 15's vs 1 18.. whats the pros and cons for each? thanx, alex

two 18" Xcons in a 2009 Black Xterra fully loaded that got 100MPG with 5% windows all around and 3" lift, mudding tires, roof rack with mudding lights. custom interior and a custom built and fit ported box built to spec with a plexiglass back with red neons and have the xcons running off a sundown 3500D....and upgraded mids and mid bass and tweeters... hmm what else. oh and dynamat the whole car. all of that for free. HELL YEAH!

you can always get a 15" Q sealed and if its not loud enough the only thing you would have to change is the box and you'd be substantially louder versus if u buy one 12 and want more than a 12 ported u have to buy another 12 or sell the 12 and get a 15 or whatever.... just getting a 15 is more versatile... you can start sealed and if thats enough stick with it, if not, switch to a ported box. i have a ported 15" Q and LOVE it.

last time i tried i couldnt get the box out but im going to try again this weekend myself ot save money... if not how much would you guys pay for one of the following for the audio place to do: 1) just flip the box around and seal off from trunk. or 2) do number one, plus plexiglass the back of the box i didnt think it'd be that hard but the way they put the box in there is a p.i.t.a. to get out and they have all these drill things or something in the box and if i mess it up im afraid they wont work with it.

Here are a few pics of my somewhat recent install and my brand new tint. I got a 15" Fi Q with red dustcap and BP Power, running on a Sundown 1200D at 1 ohm. Put it into a custom built box with white ultra-suede front and 4.0 cu ft volume with (4) 3" ports which i dont think is quite enough but ill be upgrading to a XCON eventually so trying not to put any more money into this system unless absolutely necessary. The tint is 15% all around (back shield, back 2 doors, and front 2 doors) and im considering a 50% on the front shield. Car is a 1999 Volvo S70. Headunit is Alpine CDA-9886..... Can't think of anything else so here are the picks. Enjoy! Any comments, advice, or anything, id be glad to listen. Thanx. -Gotta say i absolutely am 100% satisfied with all parts of my install... (sundown, alpine, and fi) Would definitely recommend and buy again.

haha yeah.. ive never seen a volvo in person with subs before.. only the 2 or 3 videos on youtube of 850s and V70s.

well it sounds great but i expect there is def some output left to gain... thats why this weekend or next i had planned to flip the box and see how it sounds... if i like it more id probably try the plexi idea.... also the tint on the shield is for a few reasons... 1) blocks out UV rays 2) blocks out heat so all windows owould keep it out therefore the car being farrr cooler 3) people not see in as well and 4) keep sunglight out the front so the front two windows would be darker... right now the back two are a tad darker because the light frmo the windshield doesnt get through to the back... 50% also isnt to dark so it shouldnt pose much of a problem of me seeing out. anyone here ever tint the front windshield?? i've tinted my windshield 35% on my first car. haven't gotten around to doing it on my current one. you can see out fine, day and night (ya bunch of babies). 50% would barely be noticable to the untrained eye. what about in heavy rain? or snow?

this is what i planned on doing... it sounds good now and gets pretty loud but i know there is definately more. also never thought of the plexi glass! thats a great idea... could i just take off the back and replace it with plexi? or would i need to re build a box?

yes, i know its not smart, but i had no money so i keep it turned down alot... but i did upgrade wiring to 0 gauge

damn this makes me wish i had waited to buy a sub haha. im definately going to get one of these this year, but unfortunately it will be toward the end of the summer or maybe even later. i have a list of people saying they would buy my Q because they heard it and loved it as so do I... im not sure if i can fit one of these in my trunk though?? its a volvo s70... but i am determined haha

The Q and Icon are more so in the same general area. yeah i knew that but i asked how the Q comparers to it because i heard it is basically like a Icon on steroids which would be like a Q on steroids... right? im looking to upgrading in the future and instead of going to a 18 Q" i might just go to a 18" Xcon if its like a Q, but better... I mean it handles 1750 watts... hits lows like the Icon (which should be like the Q) and is a SQ oriented sub... sounds almost like my dream sub.

haha i cant even imagine... when i first got my license and tried driving with only a ported 15" Q i lost all sense of motion and was speeding like crazy... i can feel my pedals vibrate alot so i can only imagine what 158 would be like... im really interested to see what i meter. i know its not much but im curious.

this isnt me doubting you, its more just me wanting to learn... but why would you flip the box around if you ported al three? is it because you would need more room for the ports to fit on the same side as the box?

well my 15 Q is "recommended" like 2.6-4 cu ft for ported and my box is 4 cubic feet and its loud and sounds pretty damn good. im thinking of flipping it around and maybe later on making a 5 cu ft box or maybe getting a 18 in a small ported box (6 cu ft).

he might be talking about the skipass? i got one in my car and i think he is talking bout doing something similar to what i want to do...

based on what you said... BTL. RE XXX is more SQ sub and RE is more expensive than Fi i believe.

another thing... been lookin at these Xcons.. all i can say is DAMMMMM! anyways, how would an 18 Xcon compare to a Q in terms of Output, SoundQuality, and How well it does on the lows?
