oh okay haha gotcha. my seatbelt on my driver side flung up the other week and scratched the tint and there is a hole about the size of the tip of a sharpie (pretty small) but I was wondering if i ever double layered on that window would that create like a bubble or anything? im pretty much set on what im doing.... i have 15% all around now and i was going to add a layer of 5% to the back side windows and rear window and then for the front 2 i was either going to also add a layer of 5% or i was going to strip the 15% and put down a layer of 5%.... I rather go with just adding a layer of 5% to everything but I have two worries. 1) If the tint will stick properly and last bc of the tiny tiny hole and 2) if it will be too thick for the windows to work properly and easily..... also doing a layer on shield of 50%.

I would say look at BladeICE and from there, the BL and Q. Personally I think you would be extremely satisfied with 2 15 BLs or 1 18 BL but that is only about 1000RMS if you run 1 18. Idk if you could wire it to 1000RMS or downsize amps (this is all assuming you have the amp already bc if not, then just buy a smaller amp).

the best choice for HIDs is between 4300k and 5000k oif you are looking for the brightest light.. 5000k is close to pure white and 4300k is slightly yellowish but mainly white..... anyhting lower than 4300k loses output and gets more yellow and anything higher than 5000k same thing except color is different... 6000k is mainly white with some blue, 8000k is minaly bluem 10,000k is dark blue/slight purple and anything above 10000 is not onoly purpleish but stupid... stay between 4300-6000k if you are worried about output. Im looking for some and looking between at 5000k... might go 6000k because the slight blue but i rather have the higher light output with 5000k EDIT: forgot to add that wattage matters also... a 55W HID 10,000k light will look more like a 8000k 35W. Basically the color is not as prominent the higher the power.

i got 4 running off about 1000rms so 250 a piece. It seems to me like its plenty of power for them to get moving, I don't see a real need for more unless you do comps but if you are careful im sure they could handle it.

i use my musical talent... been playing violin since i was 5... cello since i was 12.... and guitar since i was 13.... mainly focused on violin though, just mess with cello and guitar but im in a professional quartet and i make on average about $150 per gig. Have made as much as $250 in one gig which is made in a day.... we do all sorts of parties, receptions, weddings, etc so some tiny gigs such as like a dinner party where we only play for 30min or so can still make like $50-75....so its quick, easy money for me. Thats how I've paid for all of my audio gear. Taking something I love and making loads of money out of it...... cant beat it.

only idea ive had so far is this... Run the hot wire/power wire for the camera itself to an accessory or ignition 12V source so that I will have power to the camera whenever the key is in position 1 or 2 depending on if i do accessory or ignition. Then run the video cable to the HU. And finally tap the Black/Pink wire and run it to the reverse sensing wire on the HU.... im not 100% bout the wire being Black/Pink but thats what ive read. would this work to have the camera come on automatically when car is put into reverse but also being able to select the camera as a source when in any gear? Or do you guys know another way?

I need a backup camera for my car. It need to be infrared or have some sort of night vision. Its primary use is for backing up at night because of dark tint I can't see as well as I should. Would not like to spend a fortune but want good quality so whatever it takes. Also I do not want it to stand out. I dont quite understand what your talking about.... what light? btw i alredy have my camera, i decided to go with the Boyo VTL351.... illl be installing this weekend hopefully along with my Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD i received today.... ill post pics and maybe a video when i get a chance either in my 4 10" dcons thread or make a new one... How do see a persons license plate at night? There is a light that shines down and if you have a backup camera there it will be useless at night or whenever you have your headlights on and that backlight comes on. oh damn... now i see.. oh well, i guess im just going to see how it turns out but i got a question. i want to be able to have the camera turn on automatically when i put it in reverse (pretty standard) but i also want to be able to switch to the camera as a source so like if im driving i could choose it as a source.... for the Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD is there anything special I have to do to make this work, such as how to hook it up or whatever? thanks

if by "forbidden" you mean illegal, well yeah... its illegal in ANY state. after some thought, i think im going to go 5% all around and 50% on the windshield because that won't affect my visibility but will keep sun heat and uv rays out which is more important for the shield... fir the sides and back i wanted that but also privacy.

This is what i did... 4 10"s firing into the cabin. I debated on sub placement and port placement for awhile and decided to just put the port along the top (which since i had 4 subs it was pretty much the only spot bsides the bottom).... i would be interested to see what the difference would be if the port could line up with my ski-pass hole, but it doesnt.... luckily for me i usually only carry one person so i keep my seats down but when i have to take a few people i flip up the seats and flip down the ski pass armrest.... there is noticably loss in how loud it is with seats up but again not usually a problem for me unless a group of friends want to pile in my car instead of meet up... however, it is fun to flip up the seats and have ppl sit back there unknowing and crank it..... reactions are priceless. (feels like a massage too) but back to your situation haha... personally i would try to line up the port with the ski-pass opening like you said. and then put the driver on one side.... if your whole rear seat is one piece and folds down all-or-none then thats how id do it.... if yours is like mine and is two pieces (one for one seat and then the middle and other seat are together) then i would line either line up the port with skipass and put sub where the single fold-down is or put port where single fold-down is and sub behind hole....probably go with former tho)

dam, thats nice. well i think im pretty set on 5% on sides and back and still debating the windshield...atleast getting 50% but I think I might go with 35% because the guy is only charging me $40 for it so i can always redo it 50% whereas the other place was asking like $150.. yeah right haha. im going to be waiting until around april to get the tint done so anyone that has pictures of dark tint could still help me decide.. thanks everyone

so you have about 2% on everything except windshield and you have 20% on that... if that info is right then i got a few questions: 1. How did you get 2% Was it a 5% film you used but metered dark or did you double layer like (2) 15% films or what 2. If you have 20% on your windshield same question.. what film did you use? was it a 20% film or was it like a 30% that metered lower? 3. You got 20% on your windshield, so how is driving at night, driving in rain, and driving where there arn't many lights? 4. Final question, what type of films do you have.. ex) Suntek Carbon or Llumar ATX or something like that. Sorry for all the questions, just want to make sure I get it right the first time around. when you say 20% on the front, i assume you are referring to your windshield?

2% - 5% it all looks about the same. If you are smart about it you should have problems. The law here for front windows is give or take 43% (which is light) and I have no problems dont come to va the tint laws are 50% for fronts and 35% rears which is slowing me down from getting tints 50% is to light not to mention a waste of money i'll most likely go for 35% all the way around and just look out for the cops im sure you could get away with 35% in VA... i visit VA alot and i have 15% all around and never been stopped. just have to be smart... MOST of the time as long as you are doing everything else you are supposed to (signals, not speeding, not driving recklessly, etc) cops wont bother you for your tint... MOST OF THE TIME..... but if you are lets say going 10 over, they will pull you for that but then get you for your tint while they have you pulled.... atleast thats worked for me so far. whenever i see a cop i make sure im doing everything else right, turn my system down, and cruise by with my dark windows

one other question, 99% of the installs ive seen use MDF wood. For a home install (Since i guess weight is less of an issue) is there a better choice or should I just go pickup some MDf from Home Depot, Lowes, etc

It was between posting on here or in home audio but i just decided to post here.... my older brother has a Sony WM500 subwoofer that he bought a couple years back and does not use it so I decided to start a fun, little, "screw around" project. I have already taken the powered amp off the original enclosure and disconnected all the wires. Also I have taken out the actual subwoofer and taken out the power on button from the sub and I am planning on building a box for this sub. For this build I am just looking to get as loud as possible without sounding like absolute a$$. thats sort of what I had planned... I was going to measure it and see how big it was and increase it by atleast .5 cu ft plus bigger port. Just basically mess around till im satisfied. I was just wondering if someone had some better ideas before I got started.
