Project update- Finished gluing on the front baffle and the top baffle for the Plexiglas. Finished up the spray painting as well. We are just waiting for the 3/4 inch Plexiglas Pictures- and heres to give you an idea of what we started with-

We might fill them in with wood putty or it might look better if we remove all the screws and then paint it and then put in the screws again so they stand out all chrome like.

We decided not to use the metallic paint and instead we just used gloss black paint. 97 cents a can. Right now we are just debating on weather to go with LED or NEON and we are also waiting for the plexiglass.

I have 1 fully loaded 15 inch FI BTL A 5 Cubic Ft box tuned at 31 htz 0 Gauge Wiring All i need to make it complete is the AMP. I was real close to getting a HIFONICS but a lot of people are saying they are overrated Sundown audio is a little out of my price range as i only have around 500 Dollars. Could someone please steer me in the right direction. Thanks-Blake

like i said i can get the plastic bucket... like this.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...2&viewitem= so that gives me the ability to use another bulb... or a HID conversion.. now i have HID's on one of my cars.. and the kit said DO NOT CUT WIRES>..... im asking... why not.... can i cut these? i can keep going if im not getting my point accoss... The stuff they sell on ebay is plastic so wouldn't the heat output of those HID bulbs just melt everything?

Wow i Knew some one would say that. Lol I meant top of the line for me. My set up wont get any better than this. All i have left is 500 dollars. I've heard mixed opinions from audioques amp.

I have a fully loaded BTL 15" and it got here yesterday. I had one of those cheap prefab boxes laying around so i popped it in and put 1200 watts to it from a hifonics amp. Wasn't quite what i was expecting. My friends two 12 inch mojos hit way harder than the BTL. I'm not trying to put down FI or anything i just want to know how i can improve the sound (loudness) of it. How much better will 2000 watts RMS to the btl and a much bigger box help? my current box is only 2.3 ft.^3 Heres the dimensions of my new box.

Its funny i read this thread today because last night i got a warning ticket for loud music and illegally parking on the wrong side of the road. :/ Oh well Cop was cool about it. He says he understood we were just having a good time and not causing any trouble so that's why he let us off with a warning. It's unfortunate for you that happened. Thanks guys i worked on it with a killer flu but still managed. I'm very happy how it turned out and im glad i wont have to die now. (I hope) Anyways i new someone would mention about my dads mustache. lol The specs are on the first page of this thread. And bigger?? Really? This box is 5.1 cubic feet big. I thought the BTL is supposed to be anywhere from 3-5? Oh and when we were admiring the work last night my dad mentioned that we should have made a double baffle for it. But that's not hard to do.

Well box is finished. I played it at about 300 watts and my pants were vibrating. The box really made a difference. It was my first time making one this size and my dad and bro helped out. Heres some pics-

Whats wrong with hifonics?? I've never had any problems with them and they put out good power for the money. Whys everyone hating on them? Am i missing something here?

Great thanks for the imput. I just bought the MDF about an hour ago and i should have the box put together by tomorrow. Plus i bought another hifonics amp which will put 2000 watts to it easy. I'll post pictures as soon as its done. Thanks again.

Ok so I only had enough money to buy 1 FI BTL 15" so my plans are to buy a cheap 30 dollar prefab box until i can order the other 15 and then make a custom dual 15 sub enclosure. Besides reinforcing the prefab box so my BTL doesn't blow it apart will i get better bass response from a bigger box? Thanks-Blake

Names Blake and just joined today. Hope to learn a few things here and there while at the same time helping others out. Just ordered a FI BTL 15" and a Hifonics Brutus BXI2008D to give it the juice and bought a prefab box just as temporary enclosure until i can order the other BTL and Brutus amp to make a custom box. I'm going to be running 2000 watts constant at 1 ohm to my btl and i was wondering what gauge wire i need to use? I'm guessing 1 gauge but i rather be safe than sorry.
