I like my Eclipse 8454 quite a bit, thanks to WeDgE. Those kenwoods have better display modes i think, but I can't argue with active crossovers and time alignment. -
lol.. setup someone just posted on another board

"Imaging? I'm not getting the indash screen untill next week! Then I will have some nice images." -The response I would expect. -

Do those battcaps recharge/wear out? I remember a guy around here that was sponsored by them a few years ago and he had to change them before and after a competition because they wouldn't recharge. I haven't seriously looked into them since I heard that and now I hear about them more and more. -
Set you gains right, maybe a little low and you'll be fine. Thats what I'm planning on using to push mine.

Browser: Firefox 1.0.6 Screen: 1280x960 I just checked the site out with IE. I like it much more now that I can see the CDT and Cables sections.
-
Heres what I see. I don't think its much of a problem. Hell, its probably just my PC.
-
Has anyone checked out the site with firefox? I see part of the page directly under the top banner is cut off/scrunched up. Aside from that, lookin nice! I will probably be in the market for some HD-6 mids in a month or two.

Anyone come up with a new box for their new mag?
logikalliquid replied to ollie's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
The largest box I can fit through my trunk is 17x17x35 which leaves me with a 3.3cuft tuned to 30hz with ~45sqin of port area. I think I might just go sealed. I've got a PG Tantrum 1200.1 to power it. -
I just recieved a set of their krystal kables (the black jacket ones). All I can say is the pictures on the site don't do these justice. They look very well built. I have their battery terminals and am satisfied.

thinking about surround sound
logikalliquid replied to black_cirrus's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Because I can and want to. Also 5.1 would be fine because to my observevation most dvds are 5.1 but speakers come in pairs and amps are 2-4 channels so 6.1 would be very little more work. 1 more speaker in rear deck and wire to amp. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The center channel (the 5th)speaker would go in the center of the dash in the front and you'll need a surround processor for the whole shebang. Why bother with 5.1 anyway? It is hard enought to get 2 channels imaged and staged correctly in a car, don't complicate things with extra sound that can't be utilized right in such a small space. /$0.02 -
I put in the parameters of my old box and it came up with the same dimensions I made(almost: port area was a little diiferent, but seems to be correct). Jmac chimed in on it over at CA.Com : http://www.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?...ghlight=beerman

While your posting measurements for the 12inch, could you post the measurements for the 15inch too? Thanks in advance as well.

*OFFICIAL USAMPS* News thread
logikalliquid replied to flakko's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I've always liked the symmetry of US Amps boards, simple and not clustered/squeezed together looking. Can't wait for the rest of the interview. -
1 15 here too. Did you sell your old one yet ?

I can't imagine how to effectively use 14 speakers in a car, or fit 14 amplifiers in there (even if they are palm-sized thats quite a bit of mass to hide).

I've been trying to explain to this guy on EvolutionM.Net that there is no such thing as a break in period for amplifiers. He says the transistor crystal's chemical composition changes slightly since they are made and don't see power until the consumer buys it(I assumed that from a comment or 2 he made). I realized I don't have much factual proof in my handds for my arguement. Are there any tests/ studied someone could point me to to further my side? Here's the thread(they have a 5=day wait for registration so don't bother trying to quickly jump in) http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=142921

That makes sense. I know absolutely nothing about tube amps... besides they're so damn pretty in the dark!
-
I got 2dBs on the old TL from my Monsters. OMG, maybe he is right on the break-in period! My transistor crystals must've been rounded off! That's must be why I'm always clipping my woofers too!

Some might recognize me from CA.com with the same name. I'll try to shut up until I've learned enough on here not to get "STFU noob"'ed when posting. <--- thats awesome.

I'm sure RE would be happy to make you a XXX Magnum. *Shudders* that was dirty.

New Line from Directed?

Any one else think they look like a CPU chip? That was the 1st thing I thought of when i saw that.
