Suggest me a mids and highs amp?
Julian replied to JPed2563.1's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Honestly, I would not suggest the Sax-125.2. AS much as I love Sundown and have had previous amps from them without a hitch, the 125.2 has given me more trouble than I can deal with. I'm on amp number 3 from them burning up. -

Visonik V4000XD
Julian replied to MikeMartel's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
why wouldnt you run it... from the test it seems like it makes rated power... I just stated my opnion is all. thats like saying, a fast food place will get you full, its true, but wouldn't you enjoy a home cooked meal better? What if the fast food restaurant sells home cooked meals? -
American bass 1000.1 Ahh cool, I thought that you were looking for something else. I can't keep anything straight right now I might be if something comes about like a pair of D9's or similar.

Visionik wasn't always crap.. Just like many other brands that most people call garbage. -

The mids are awesome, the tweeters can be a little harsh (But they are bullet tweets) but however they sound pretty damn great for what they are especially if you eq them out, the harshness will be a lot less than you would think. I have the mids crossed over from 40-5khz and the tweet 5k+. They can get STUPID loud for just being a set per door.

If you're really going to run bawls to the walls amounts of power I would suggest running the ZCON in the lower end spectrum of box sizes. I've messed with box sizes + power, when I ran 6-7 cubes at 5k+ I ran into mechanical issues tearing spiders, etc. When I dropped it down to around 5 cubes that was the best space for running a shit ton of power. I didn't have anymore mechanical issues and got some good numbers out of it.

I want to upgrade my underhood battery, butttt...
Julian replied to JPed2563.1's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Not really, the only issue as I stated before if the car sits the larger AGM battery will drain the front battery sometimes preventing it from starting. But as long as you dont let it sit forever this will rarely if ever happen -

They don't have to necessarily be the same. What you are thinking of is TYPES of batteries when you run a lead acid and an AGM style battery SOMETIMES if the car sits for awhile the batteries will level out voltage. Although unless your car sits for a stupid long time you will be fine running two different types of batteries. -
What do you mean?

I have the weirdest alternator whine, there is a high pitched buzz when I have my lights on, it goes away as soon as I press down on the brakes it goes away then comes back when I release.

Saw this and thought I'd share... http://blog.edesignaudio.com/?p=1792 Because I cannot operate with such a large overhead with little inventory, and no staff, I have come to the conclusion that the doors at Elemental Designs will be closing by the end of Friday, August 31st, 2012.
