Loose connection, I've seen this happen before. This was a good fuse holder by RF IIRC and a loose connection caused it to melt without the fuse even burning up.

so im having an issue with a bc3500. I had the.remote wire come out so I put it back in and heard a loud pop.. when I turned it up there was a horrible tinny sound... Like they were out of phase or something. So I took all of the subs out 4 are reading normally 1.8 and 4 are reading 1.5/1.4 I'm really not sure what happened.. The subs free air fine but the impedance is all wrong. They should be D2 closer to 1.7/1.8 like the other 4. Any ideas?

I just wanted to give a little bit of a review on the new Rockford Fosgate pro audio. My doors are deadened with SDS and that's it, The speakers are installed off axis with the RF 8" mid and the RF Pro audio Tweeter up top. I am running them actively off of my Pioneer Premier DEH-880PRS, I am powering them with my Boss (zed built) Havoc-665 (100x4). The X-over points (roughly) for the mid is 50hz-5khz and Tweeter is around 5k and up. I played several different Genera's from rap to rock and electronic/dubstep music. I first started off by listening to Brown Eyes by Lady GaGa. The kick came through strongly with the piano coming in smoothly. The guitar made my back hairs stand up, Her voice was bright, the harmonizing section came in very smoothly and rang out as if they were singing before me. I proceeded to listen to Intolerance by Tool, The bass guitar came through VERY heavily (which is good!). The drums came through very well, the cymbals were bright and the snare had a very nice snap to it. The distorted guitar sound came through very well as it phased in and out. I changed it up a little bit and put on Beautiful by Eminem, The intro section with the singer's voice came through brightly and rang well. The drum and snare came through very well! I was surprised that there was little fatigue and kept beating through. The guitar in the background rang out beautifully and this is quite possibly one of my favorite songs so far.. I put on Shopaholic (Funtcase Remix) by Wideboys & Sway (feat. McLean). The snare came through as usual, the wobble was low, loud and grimey (good). The bass drum and snare came through extremely well with little distortion. I am extremely pleased with the Rockford Pro audio, the pricing is also pretty great. I noticed very little sound fatigue even after around hour + of high level listen which I was extremely impressed with. I would recommend everyone take a look at them. Here are some Sexy pics!

Jimmy's Eggs is a pretty good place (breakfast & Such), also Mcallisters has great sandwhiches and tasty tea. Bei Wei is a really good Chinese place if you catch them late enough they're open around ~2, oh yeah Hog Wild has some pretty good BBQ too. Why are you headed to Wichita?

Don t use metric.. I used 38-24 on all my custom blocks. I didn't realize the tap I picked up from HF was metric.. Lol Oh well.. I guess :-/
-
It worked out pretty well.. I used the posts to mark where the holes needed to go by tapping with a hammer to make an indentation. Then used the drill press to carefully tap the bar. I'm pretty happy with what came out. The bars make it 500x easier to wire everything up instead of having 3-4 terminals on a single post.
-
did you end up adding more layers?
-
Oh, and why the fuck are Metric bolts so expensive? I spent more on the bolts than I did the Aluminum.
-
Little update! What I'm working with 3/8" x 1 1/2" Aluminum bar.Ensuring that all the holes line up properlyOne down.. Many to goMore done..The final product.. I know they're not perfectly centered.. But I like my overall job with the tapping. There are a total of 15 tapped holes on each side for my M8 X 1.25 bolts.Close up..Starting to get them in..All the 1/0 connected and bolted downAll neat and clean!

Mixing batteries on my up coming road trip
Julian replied to Jacob86's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
the only issue with mixing batteries is if they sit for a looong time the bigger battery will drain the smaller one... but other than that you should be ok -
