lifeline batteries

If there is no CA rating you can also look at CCA rating, it'll be lower because it is measured at 0 degrees F. So it'll be lower than CA but it will be higher when at higher temps. -
Not sure if this was posted yet, but I thought I might put together a little guide on how to determine where a song peaks. Go to http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ and download for your applicable OS. Install it and everything open it up... Drag and drop your song from Itunes, etc. You should end up with something like this.. Select a portion of the song you want to anylize or you can do CTRL+A to select the entire song. Go to Analyze then to plot spectrum, you may get an error "Too much audio was selected. Only the first XXX.X seconds of audio will be analyzed. That's fine just click, OK. This window will then pop up, on the lower left of your screen change the drop down menus to exactly what I have. If you drag your cursor you can see what frequency is loudest, which in our case is 34HZ. The closer to 0 the louder it will be.

So you sit there and play your system on low volume for hours? CA IMO is the BEST way to determine battery strength, The rating is defined as the number of amperes a lead-acid battery at that temperature can deliver for 30 seconds and maintain at least 1.2 volts per cell (7.2 volts for a 12 volt battery, granted you'd never see that low). What does MOST music contain? I'd say most bass lines in songs can average around 30 seconds. SO the battery with the higher CA would be able to supply X amount of amps for 30 seconds. Ampere-hours (A·h) is a measure of electrical charge that a battery can deliver. This quantity is one indicator of the total amount of charge that a battery is able to store and deliver at its rated voltage. Its value is the product of the discharge-current (in amperes), multiplied by the duration (in hours) for which this discharge-current can be sustained by the battery. Generally, this value (or rating) varies widely with the duration of the discharge period (see: Peukert's Law), therefore the value is typically only meaningful when the duration is specified. This rating is rarely stated for automotive batteries, except in Europe where it is required by law. Nominal capacity(A·h) by EN 60095-1, is rated at a fixed discharge current of I/20, within 20 hrs until final discharge voltage of 10.5 V at 25°C is reached. -

AH doesn't mean a whole lot for our uses.. unless you're going to put a small drain over x hours it doesn't. Look at Cranking amps which is a better indicator of what a battery supply. -

Keep the diehards they are excellent batteries. pick up a G31 diehard AGM and that should be more than sufficient. -

DD1 near Orange County CA??
Julian replied to Garrett Tait's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
He is talking about burping it. So I assume he is competing with a burp. you could never run it daily on 2,000 wrms. Gotcha, I though he was saying that he wanted it to run it that much but with a clean signal. But he is also talking about clean power. So I dont know why you need clean power to burp a sub. it does matter sometimes. Clipped burp (audible) Vs Unclipped (audible) can be a few tenths in my car. -
Nope I was going to but I haven't decided what i want to do
