information on lead acid/agm/gell
Julian replied to ncc74656's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
No you don't have to unless your system demands will drain the batteries to where if you're not driving enough to fully charge them with the alternator. When I had my 6 g31 batteries my alt wasn't enough even though it was 320a unless the drive was an hour or so more when they were low so every so often I'd throw them on the charger to put a good charge. By no means is it necessary but it can improve the batteries life. -

The Pac module will work however you may or may not lose the bt abilities sometimes they work sometimes they don't I've installed many in the sonatas and the volume controls Remain, if you have your doubts have a reputable shop do it, it can be rather complicated. -

Standard gel and lead acid batteries can be used in car, may car manufacturers put them in trunks without issues, they just have a small vent to the exterior of the car for excess gas. Although they do not give the same amount of performance for their size. If you're short on cash get the biggest one and make sure you vent it to the outside and you'll be fine. -
Changed the oil filter assembly seal on my wifes 97 Cougar XR7... never doing that again.. Just fucking impossible to get at, and the asshole she took to get her oil change while I was out of town wrenched the oil filter on there... Long day for what should of only taken a few hours.

Kenwood recently acquired jvc. The quality has been upped significantly, I've installed a ton of the double sins and I've seen zero come back with issues, they only really lack features in comparison to the Kenwood unit's -
Hazardous chemical fumes?? Me, I prefer contacts and safety glasses. It makes it so I don't have to wear prescription safety lenses everywhere or carry 2 sets. JP8, hydraulic fluid, jet engine oil, etc. Nasty stuff for sure.

I need to get a prescription pair of safety glasses since we're not allowed to wear contacts.

And they last about 1/10th as long. Personally I'd return them. Realize we have different tastes but Oakley lenses are horseshit My last pair lasted 11 years. Current pair is at 5 years. $225 total investment. Drop them once and they are jacked. Personally I can't stand a single scratch on my lenses. Oakley's scratch so easily its absurd. I went through 3 pairs in less than a year, bought MJ's and they lasted until they flew off my head at 75mph on the boat. I drop them daily, wear them as safety glasses when outside. I literally beat the shit out of them and I have no issues what so ever. I find their clarity great as well, especially in the winter with snow blind. I am not on water much, but when I have been with them, again, no issues. They have made me a satisfied customer with no reason to stray, especially in comparison to a substantially more expensive product. IMO if sunglasses last more than a summer either A. You don't go out or B. some kind of voodoo magic, it seems like every pair I get at the beginning of the summer seems to be lost in a lake or forgotten somewhere.

I absolutely hate looking for a job. Now that the wife and I have moved out to California I'm in need of a job, no luck yet. I hate sitting around doing nothing more than anything though .

Julian replied to shizzzon's topic in Automotive and Performance
Yeah my buddy used an old a.c. pump on his b2200 and it worked quite well he just had to rev the engine to get it pumping. -

What about onboard air? Get an old AC pump and use it for air? -
I have a tamron 28-200 (very old lense) but I'll probably be switching it out for a Tamron 18-270 for a great daily lense. I have an 18-270 and have to bring it to asia since I broke my 17-55. Fuckin' bummed the 18-270 is awful. From tamron? That's supposedly a great all-arounder.
