Julian replied to meade916's topic in General Fi
i have a 15in bl and it pounds on 900 watts rms beats my 2 MTX jackhammer 55's -
well minus the sub maybe 300-400ish? was also thinking another a 1208d and then adding a MAXX-LINK from hifonics to link them togehther in a master/slave set up so id be doing like 1,200wrms per sub
-
i have a FI bl 15,cooling,daily, universal d1, im (thinking of) adding another bl to my car (not like i really need it ) but is there i could wire 2 d1's down to 1 ohm?( wouldnt it end up at 1/4 of an ohm? or 4 ohms) i don't think you can but, hey theres always hope(or none) but i was thinking about getting an excessive amperage alt like a 250 amp, run 0g wire front to back add a kinetik battery all KnuKonceptz wire, with maybe a crunch or hifonics amp Ideas or comments?
-
yep, thats what i was just looking at.
-
so, ideas, comments? any other amps i should consider? im on a slightly tight budget, wanting a sundown but they're kinda expensive?
-
Coils series then subs parallel = 1 ohm load. thats what i was thinking, actually exactly so id still end up with two d1 woofers?

hifonics brut 1208d
-
yeah some douche-baggy shops will do that, i got my 1 in thick box for abouttt.... 120 dollars carpeted which is great because other shops wanted to charge me like 200-300 dollars for a single box. so its gonna be kinda expensive. edit: it was a single Bl 15.
-
try a different amp? or have you already done that? i like crunch / hifonics amps alot they're cheap and pretty damn good. i got one 15 bl running off a hifonics brutus bxi1208d running at around 900 watts rms and it beats like none other.
-
yeah i didnt mean to run it at .5 ohms i thought i got a 2 ohm sub
-
i have a 15 fi bl with cooling, daily, universal and it keeps on making a scary noise, it sounds like someone is scraping the terminals of a 9v battery on the leads of the subwoofer, and its scaring the out of me, i just got the sub Friday (1/16/09) and it wasn't doing it at first please help!
-
running an amp below its ohm range would piss the amp off and make it clip etc.
-
Update: IM SUCH AN IDIOT! i know whats wrong with my subwoofer... i had it wired down to .5ohm, i didn't realize i got a 1 ohm coil each, so my hifonics is wired down to .5 ohms and didn't kill it. shows the resilience of a hifonics brutus.
-
it took about 4 days to get my sub out to me and it was a 15 bl ithink i spend like 300 bucks or so all together with shipping.
-
hmm true to that.. not sure couldnt you put it in the door? thats hollow too
-
i "think" its hollow below there you "maybe" could cut down a little bit so you could fit it in there then fiberglass it all back? it sounds hollow on mine, although mines a 95
-
question. WHERE DID YOU get your damn alt at hah, ive been looking for a 200amp alt for my 1995 lumina i got a 15in fi bl in it
-
Why not recone it yourself? You will save a lot of money. how would i do that? :s yeah i get that but i mean ive had experiences with MTX they met me half way they paid for half the shipping and fixed what was wrong with the product for a small fee.
-
Update well... they said its going to be 85 dollars + shipping.. and they want me to pay for both shipping to the place and back home.. makes me kinda wanna stray away from FI.
-
thank you god its cheap:D i was hoping it wouldnt be over 100 dollars
-
questions: what do i do to get my 15 reconed? how much will it cost? and would it be kinda cheap?
-
aprox how much would it cost?
-
sigh is there a number i can call fi at?
