Making that recommendation doesn't tell him the exact minimum amount of port area needed to avoid port noise. so you are telling me that he will have port noise with 15-17 per and it will be audible???? are you a dumbass, or just a dumbass. my recommendation is not telling him the minimum amount or port area needed without port noise, its giving him a proper starting point for a daily system with lots of output. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Lets see, The BL's Cannot be sealed, the Q's can. Generally the Q's will go lower than the Bl's. The BL's have a ton of output but aren't by any means a SQ Driver (However they do sound good) also the BL's can handle much more power.

from the freq response it seems like a fart cannon, just for SPL. i was looking into them but when i saw the 50-200hz it worried me a lot. you could afford a Fi BL or Q for that price. same with a lot of other subs. i know the Lanzar's run about 300 dollars each.

Keep the Alpines and build a new box before you buy new subs, those subs really start to shine when they're ported.
