Battery isolator needed?
Julian replied to Bob345's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Also if your rear battery is drained and your car is sitting for a long time. Most of us don't unless we have a huge bank of batteries and not the ability to charge them up. -
I literally LOLed when i watched this video, you guys should watch it.

Head Unit???
Julian replied to joe_prince's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Generally, i've found that Alpine headunits handle iPod features quite well, I even most if not all of them charge the iPhone 3gs also, which most don't. -
You make me miss my Lumee.. haha. great build log.

Yes MUCH lighter, easier on cutting tools, leaves less dust, and not as bad for your lungs because of less dust But as all intelligent people know you should always wear a mask You may have to special order it in your area or go to a lumbar yard. I went to Lowes and Home Depot and they were like "Wutt? " but you can find it none the less.

Also it may be more expensive but Turpan Light is lighter than MDF if i can remember much lighter, and this may be an option for you to lower weight.

I would consider Two Sundown Audio SA-12 and to pair it with a single SAE-1200Dv2 Refurbished from Db-R that would put you right at 640 before shipping. It would sound great, look great, and be loud! That would leave money for your front stage!
-
I would chose more cone area over a single woofer, it'll allow you to get louder on lower amounts of power. Subwoofers such as most Sundown love smaller enclosures, so you can fit a little more in a smaller space. i would go with two 12's, it may be slightly more but it will be worth it.

Looking for new Head Unit.
Julian posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Alright guys, I'm looking for a good In-Dash 7" TFT-LCD Touchscreen, Single Din. I'm looking for something that has a responsive touch screen, looks good, has Iphone 3gs support, Aux inputs are always nice, Navigation is not needed as for Multimedia options i would like the ability to play DivX files, DVD's, and DVD Music C.D.s . I would like the ability to run 2 way active, then in the future to run 3 way active, So it must have Subwoofer + Rear+ Front outputs. My budget is around 400 probably no more than 425, I'm open to all brands, so Pioneer, Alpine, Clairion, etc would be all acceptiable. -

Diodes are typically very sensitive if they're hooked up the wrong way, i've seen lots of stuff die, not just amplifiers. -

New Desktop for Surfing
Julian replied to MKader17's topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
It just wouldn't happen with them. But for my desktop I will definitely look into it. Thanks. I know your dad already ordered a new machine, but you'd be surprised at how fast and eays Ubuntu is to use. Julian is right. I installed it for my mom who plays alot of online games and gets TONS of spyware in her machine from it. Now with Ubuntu the machine runs faster than ever, she still has ALL of her usability on the machine, and she says the Ubuntu is ending up being easier to use than windows was so far. Just my .02 You can actually dual boot through the windows side, just run an .EXE and install restart, then switch over. May take some time depending on the needed drivers, etc but it shouldn't take long. I personally use my Ubuntu for surfing, music, online games, etc and i use my windows for the proprietary programs i need, although there are always new and better clones on the Linux side.
