Does IA recone other companies motors?

Prices aren't really going to change, You'll be around the $100 mark for the recone. There will typically not be a price difference unless one company doesn't use as good or expensive soft parts. Also the RMS rating has a lot to do a lot with the cooling of the motor. If a coil can't be cooled by the machining in the motor, the RMS rating will mean nothing. Why not call TC sounds and see if they can recone it for you?

    Trunk Setup Positioning

In the lumina when i was running my Fi bl 15" in a 3.5 Ft^3 box tuned to 32Hz, it was best to either place it forward and push it all the way to the back of the trunk so it was still facing forward or to put it all the way back to the seats facing rearward. I noticed a huge loss of output when facing forward, the low end was not there, it wasn't as loud. Although mine was not sealed so this could of made a huge difference. Sealing may have a huge impact on the output and the low end, I have a feeling if i would have done that the output would of been superb.

i have come to the conclusion i frequent this site too much
  7. 1. You would want to wire down to 1 ohm, You will need dual 2's. Also you will want an amplifier that runs down to one ohm. 2. You should really start off slow, You're picking up a lot of power it's like going from a pop gun to a desert eagle. 3. What is your budget, what electrical upgrades do you have (Batteries, High Output alternator, Big 3)? 4. The resistance of the coils (In ohms) do not dictate reliability. You have to make sure your amplifier can handle either 1 ohm or 2 ohms.

    is it worth it

This is probably the truest thing when it cones to car audio in general. It's like picking an engine before you even know what car you're going to get.

Xanax? lol Was on that about 8 years ago. I don't like pills and I see medicine as an excuse to be lazy and take care of yourself. Marijuana? haha, Prop 19!
  13. .5 OHMS IS NOT SUPPORTED 100% WHY WON'T ANYONE LISTEN! FUCK You realize you're pulling huge amounts of current! Your electrical is not big enough to support .5 ohms. If you look at a data sheet you can see that as a transistor gets hot it has a lower current rating... running an amp at a lower impedance increases the current passing through the transistors, heating them up, and progressively lowering their ability to handle the current until something fails. Dropping an amp to 1/2 ohm doubles the output current (up until the amp just can't put out more at least) and makes everything less efficient so the power supply in turn draws more current, often times inducing more voltage drop which calls for MORE current to maintain the same output level - again, turning into a cycle if it continues until something fails. Many amps are robust enough to handle this pretty well - but the more you push the amp and the more clipping that goes on you get closer to realizing the impedance chart I posted above for a square wave which can drop down VERY low. That sort of thing can destroy even a very robust amplifier design when you are already running at 1/2 or less of the rated impedance load. It all started with SPL competition... where you play ONE sine wave at a known impedance so you can get away with a really low nominal load. That is all well and good, but music is not a single sine wave - you do not know what the impedance curve can do and it CAN drop below the nominal load, unlike "common knowledge" on the forums may tell you.

btl 18 cuts out at high volume HELP!!!!!!

Does the amplifier run down to 1 ohm in the first? and are you sure you got dual 2's and not dual 1's? if they are indeed dual 1's you would be wiring down to .5 ohm. The amplifier only accepts 4 gauge wire... for a 2,000 amplifier you would expect to get 1/0.. I would consider getting a reducer. This will allow more current to your amplifier.

    carpet or fiberglass

BUT! It'll only make the enclosure slightly, you will need 1 Lb of Polyfill per Ft^3. You won't get much back.

    Create more AC AMPS?

Yes it should, you'll have more of a reserve to take from instead of your battery being discharged, then your alternator filling it back up. What alternator do you have in your car? Stock? HO? You could add a MLV or a VCM to keep your voltage higher.
