Could a plane fly without wings? We don't know give us some information... WHAT 270 amp alternator? Who from? What does your electrical look like? Do you have 1/0, big 3, multiple runs of 1/0? What kind of system do you have? how many watts are you running?

Two Allthread rods placed through the top and the sides of the box and tightened with washer's and nuts on the inside and outside of the box should do the trick.

The v.2's take hell of a lot of power to be honest, if you have enough space, i'd do 4-15's recone the 18's to 15's then wall that shit!

Like M5 said, you will lose output the lower you keep tuning. More likely to break things, BILTD can attest to this, tuned very low everything flexes even crazier.
