intetnet brand amps.
Julian replied to stevemead08's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
There are a lot of larger companies that OEM internet branded names. Just like Fi OEM's Crossfire, SSA, Etc. Basically all the vendor does is goes to the company, makes up some standards they want, gets it customized (heatsink, logos, etc) then sold. They're basically acting as a third party to market their amplifiers Just like Zenon manufactures Sundown, Crescendo, and a lot of other brands. There are really no big differences... -

Port flares for sale, 8" and 10" diameter pipe
Julian replied to Adrian_D's topic in For Sale/Wanted
You can get other 6" aeroports through PSP or other port manufactures. -
I was just thinking about a large acrylic sheet, something like 2-3 inches thick, ask my dad if he can find someone to do some easy CNC for me.. hm
-
That would work, I just need something to be machined.
-
something of the sorts, but an 8-10" one.
-
I'm not looking to fiberglass but just do heat molded PVC.
-
I'll send you beer ... shipping would be like a million dollars though.. haha I have a general idea how you did it, but did you machine the mold? I was looking for someone to macine me a bell shaped mold, but Didn't know what to make it out of. The actual machining was the job of the machine shop. I handed drawings and it was their job to figure out how to do it. What was it made out of? I was considering maybe something out of plastic?

I don't know if you can see it, but they are floating in the air attached only with zip ties. Way less vibrations transferred to the case-less noise. Great idea and good work on the desk IMO, keeping the case down would also reduce a bit of the noise, because it's not there at head level. Adrian I'm really interested in your production of your aeroports, would you be willing to share your mold and how it was produced? this is no way to shove you out of the market but I'd like to produce some for myself.

I want to find software mod that allows you to selectively mount a storage location to the point where it would only see the selected one.

RF T-1000bd Protect Light Coming On (help)
Julian replied to Maddenkid2011's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Bet ya $1 it wasn't the same way. All the Fosgate amps I have ever owned would not wire lower than rated impedance without shutting off and I have owned a bunch. Yeah their protection functions are pretty iffy, I wired ~600w fosgate amp and it would run on .5 at very low volumes but as soon as you turned it up it would shut off. I've seen some pretty bad issues with the protection in general, IIRC if your amp gets extremely hot a lot it could ruin the temperature sensor and so it would contentiously shoot into protect. But this was sometime ago and I don't recall all of the details. -
^ that is cleaver!

I've only a few that will mount as a single mass storage device, there is probably work around somewhere.. But sadly most HU's don't cache the music playlist so it takes forever for it to read and recognize. I put a 320 GB HD on my HU and formatted it as Fat32, and it read it. but took about 5 mins to read and only would read up to only 250 folders/files, but even that took forever especially if they were all foldered.

Since they are mounted as two different images, it pulls up an error on the Headunit.

well Android has SO many different hardware options, all make for compatibility a bitch. Iphone is an iphone.. no different. makes want to get rid of my android phone and go for an iphone (again). I'm not giving up on Android. The new version (Ice Cream Sandwich) is coming out and it will really standardize the software between tabs and phones. I think that will really help. Though, I think I'm going to grab a tablet and built a mount for it so that I use it as its own stereo. Will jsut have to find a way to get Digital audio out. Ironically, I already know how to do it on an ipad... It's not the software that's different, it's the hardware. Every phone is different none are the same to some extent. Have options is a good thing, actually... Also, I've never heard of "hardware compatibility issues" when it comes to phones; unless you're trying to stick a USB cable into a Firewire port or something along those lines. Sorry I should have been more specific, in terms of use in the car is where I've ran into compatibility issues. Problem being due to the fact when ran through usb the memory being read is read as two different sources as apposed to a single source

ehh there needs to be more of a standardization of hardware, to some extent.
