  1. Awesome... looks like they run $207 so that'll be next on the list. http://www.sears.com/diehard-platinum-automotive-battery-group-size-35-price/p-02851035000P?prdNo=33 As for the fusing from the alt to the battery, 300amp? typically I suggest not to fuse it, a high output alternator can easily blow fuses.
  2. Iirc up front it's pretty space limited, so a cheaper group 31 like a used deka intimidator or similar would be a great suppliment for the rear for pretty cheap x but as jaycee said it depends on your listening habits.

How to put the port ?

What about aero ports?Usually half the diameter at a minimum in my experience.

How to put the port ?

You really won't run into issues with it being far away from it. Just make sure there is adequate clearance between the back and the port. The port loads better off the rear hatch vs loading against the roof. Acoustically I'm not sure why, but in my experience it's typically the best in most hatchback cars/trucks.

How to put the port ?

Port back is typically the loudest in suvs, make sure you leave at least 3-4" at the narrowest part between the back and the port .

For my setup which is what EVERYONE is suggesting cost me exactly 265 for horns from Eric Stevens 134 for 2 pairs or 6.5" silver flutes 147 for mini dsp (you could easily find a 9887 for half of that) And whatever 4 channel you want. I had the running on a 50w x4 alpine amp and they SCREAMED while being able to keep a good level or sq even when the system was on low volume. Say you wanted to run the Rockford stuff bought from sonic electronix 120 for 2 tweets 320 for 4 mids So you're already looking at 460 for much less quality setup. 399 for the horns and mids plus for a little more a mini dsp or 9887, so you really aren't saving much really for a system that will never be on the same level as the horns

    Tahoe box build ?

You guys are ready know...I have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to anything bass....remember I'm one of the people that is monkey see monkey do... That's not the right way to be, sometimes it works in some situations but just because other people are doing it doesnt mean its the right way or best option for you. Honestly, there are plenty of under the window line dual 18 setups that can do upwards of 54's with no issues on low power. Especially being in a tahoe you'd be able to fit 4 18's under the window line while keeping the rear seats. You gain a lot from the way SUV's are shaped and how the acoustics work.

    Tahoe box build ?

you would be able to keep the back seats.

Why do you want a 4th order bandanas? Also, c pillar walls in my experience rarely get louder than a under the window line box in SUVS like these.

So what do you think is a good midbass that can keep up with my set-up I don't want to go bigger than a 8". And budget is around 100.00 each. honestly save your money and do it right the first time. I ran the Rockford Pro setup and it sounded okay with bass, but when turned down it sounded very flat and missed out on a lot of music. I finally took the advice and did it right with the eric stevens horns and a single pair of Silver Flutes 6.5's, they sound amazing and get so incredibly loud it is ridiculous. Take some time and seriously do it right.

    I mean subwoofer wise
  13. The two 12" Gcons will have just slightly more surface area than the single 15. The main thing that comes into question is; are you planning on upgrading in the future? With two 12's you're sort of locked into the pair of 12's unless you want to do 1-2 more. With the single 15 you'd be able to go to a dual 15 setup without many issues.
  14. On the back of the alternator there should be a post where it attaches to, it is directly on the back, ground from the alternator anywhere then to frame and then frame to battery.

For Midwest spl it's measured from the side Windows. What setup do you plan on running?

Actually the noise floor on the trailblazer is absurd. Complete POS. Road noise and acoustic treatments are non-existent. They killed that chassis for a reason as there was no way to make it handle or sound like a modern car. Super bummer because the TBSS is a truck I REALLY wanted, but it is such a POS that it killed the deal. As for "audio friendly" that depends on your goals. Sounds to me like you are after bass and bass alone in which case yes a sport utility works well. Personally though I'd just work harder at it on your list and grab the SS Impala as at least it is a real car. Yep after owning one for a few months now there is very little sound dampening at all. For driving it's not super loud but if you put bass in it, it will rattle worse than a bag of tin cans in a cymbal factory that caters to half deaf people

I'll be going to all, the NW platte city one is always the biggest usually.. the SJ one is normally low turnout.

There is another NW audio show coming up in September. If you want to listen to my horns and silver flute setup you can. they will literally blow you away. If you want to sooner than that we can setup something.

Yep just avoid anything older than an 06 and you're set.

In my trailblazer under the window line if you're smart you can fit 4 15's under the window line, if you can weld you'd be able to fit around 9 batteries under the rear with enough room for 4 18's. Although alternator size is limited however there are a few people out there who sell brackets for dual and triple alt setups. I'm fitting 2 Odyssey PC1800's and 2 NorthStar NSB170's while keeping enough room for the 15's.
  21. I've heard multiple times that the amperage of the 2 doesn't matter, but it can be an issue if they both charge at 2 different voltages. I'd say isolate the factory alt to the truck along with mids/highs and dedicate the HO alt to the battery bank in the back. Just my opinion if you aren't sure if they match voltages. FWIW, some alts do 14.2, 14.4, 14.8, etc As long as they are the same chemistry (agm) you are fine.

Something like a trailblazer, tahoe, envoy, etc would be best. With a pair of 15s on a good amount of power in a proper box it's easy to breaks the 50s

For that budget I would suggest these http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12260_JBL-P660C.html They sound great, but as m5 said if you can't listen to them don't get them.

    voltage gauge/meter mounting help

cuz im gonna be putting an isolator between the 2 batteries and i want to be in the know bro. plus im one of those stupid teens who thinks it "looks cool". ah good tip. thanks mate. and i heard from somebody else that epoxy might work as well? whats your view on that stuff? Honestly the red 3m tape is super strong if applied correctly. That's what I've used in tons of install. If it's not a flat surface I would honestly just relocate it to somewhere it is.
