Which active HU to replace 80prs?
Julian replied to Jasonc13's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I don't know of any double din fully active hus. I would honestly find one you like and use a mini dsp. -
I heard he had something come up medically but I haven't seen anything new. I know people are still waiting for enclosures.

Here's something I've been working on after work for a little something. It's my old mechman 320 from the mustang. I finally finished it up for the most part. Just need to drill some mounting holes and call it a day. -

All dat trupan goodness -
Honestly we can't tell you exactly what to do. However the general rule of thumb is put the largest battery you can upfront and in the rear. I've had a great deal of success with the diehard platinum series of batteries from sears. I would do the largest battery upfront and one of the group 31s in the rear. That should be more than enough.

Here is my current setup, Vehicle 05 TrailBlazer Speakers (2) Eric Stevens Full body horns Under the dash (2) Silverflute 6.5's Factory location Processing MiniDSP Amplifier USAcoustics Barbra Ann 100x4 at 4 ohms or 175x4 at 2 ohms. Currently I am very satisfied with the current sound and output however, soon I will be going from no subwoofers to four fifteens. I am worried I will not have enough output on the mid side since I am running a single mid in each door in the factory locations. At my disposal I have an extra pair of silver flutes sitting in my closet just as spares which could be added. My question for outputs sake would I be better off going with two pairs of silver flutes per door, or a single large 10"+ mid? Fabrication wise; I'll be fiberglassing obviously, so mounting location is really up to my imagination losing some legroom wouldn't be out of the question, but I'd like to keep as much as possible. My overall goals are output, clarity, and able to keep a high level of output for long periods od time without fatiguing. Any questions please feel free to ask.

Single large midwoofer or multiple smaller
Julian replied to Julian's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I have approx half a cubic foot, probably slightly more if I bump it out towards the bottom which shouldn't be a problem at all. The main problem I see If I do a larger woofer being even remotely on axis would be out of the question. I have my horns and silver flutes pretty well blended, granted i don't have a rule of thumb to determine how well blended is . -
Dual Alt Brackets
Julian replied to Freak812's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
That's a pretty popular model of car so finding them will be extremely easy. -
Thats one sexy hoe you got there.

Why do you think you need a 6th order bandpass?

As the title states, ICS-x7hd for sale. I've had it for about 6 months now with zero issues. It's a great mechless unit with a ton of features. Only reason I'm getting rid of it is because I'm going with an iPad mini. It includes the tr-7 which is necessary to use this unit while not in park. This includes video, settings, etc. It also includes the iPod usb cord. Microphone And the harness

Comcast is our cable company. I get 30Mbps down and 8Mbps up and home phone for 62.00 a month, just internet would have been $10 more. So for the savings I have a home phone. I know it makes no sense. I will not give up my directv, even though I fight with them a lot over pricing. I have TWC at my apartment and I pay $60/mo for 100 Mb/s lol.

The silver flutes are great sounding mids; especially for the price. I think I picked up four for around 80$ shipped from madisound.

I went from Samsung tv's to Sony tv's and have not regretted it since. I picked up a 47" Sony led tv for like 470$ and I love it

Hey man if you need somewhere to work on your truck you can work on your truck for a few hours in my shop.

So I need to get my head unit warrantied. I'm contemplating getting rid of it all together, since I only use Bluetooth from my phone. Crutchfield sells a few Bluetooth to rca receivers. Add a Pac knob or to use as volume control and call it a day. Not sure if I want to add a second mini dsp or just use the amp crossovers..

Honestly you will hate having an 8 for rock. As everyone has said up top you will have huge gaps in your fr.

Honestly I've tried the 2x4 method, bracing method, and all sorts of different techniques but nothing beats double baffle and all thread imo. Steel pipe and welded feet come in a close second

Honestly going with more strength rather than focusing on a small gain in space is far more important.

I've seen people use sand for pure spl purposes to add strength and mass to a large piece to add rigidity and strength. But outside of that I've never heard of it being used on a box. I've seen people use the milkshake method as tirefryr was saying.
