bad volatge problem
Julian replied to NastyLincoln's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would go recrimp and solder all of your connections. I did that on my friends car and his voltage went up a lot. -
Traded the zcon 15 away.. BUT look what i got.. ;)

I would love for some of the people who think they are getting a good deal from a company that outsources all of their work to china/korea to see how LITTLE goes into producing a subwoofer or amplifier. ANYONE can start making subs or amplifiers out of the country with a little bit of capital and a bit of time. People don't realize they're supporting 300% profit margin...

Changing the Frequency of a box....?
Julian replied to Briggiboy33's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
The 45 is the cheapest and easiest way to do it. -

I would suggest adding larger and larger 45's in the corners... it is a much easier way to raise tuning and is easily reversible. Simply calculate the area of a square and half it, you will end up with your amount of space taken away then you can calculate how much it raised your tuning. -
I'm looking to make some buss bars out of aluminum. The buss bars will span two D3100's ~13" for each positive and ground, I was wondering what size and type of aluminum I should go with. I'm not sure how thick or wide of buss bars should I get? I was considering 1 Inch thick by 2 inches.

[email protected] They only build recones once a week.. Also that 12-15 days is BUSINESS DAYS... that makes a huge difference

I am going to drill/tap holes and use bolts to hold down the terminals -

I was considering but the local place doesn't stock it IIRC. But Aluminum is cheap -
10-12 gauge should be sufficient

BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzz!!!! Looks good Steve.. I see expanding foam in your future! My buddies escort gained 2 dbs just by sealing.

We have one thing in common Steve... Lack of space So top port and high tuning was kinda inevitable. theres more in common than that.... im exited for you! 'sides that.. lol Just waiting on my second ZCON and recone.
-
and if you're wondering why the ports don't line up... is because my router took a dump on me RIGHT when we got done with the sides and cutouts.

It's STUPID loud. SB3 world records, and KAOS which is MWSPL class.. .153 for 3 mins straight I thik was his score.

So once everything is in, what will the specs be then? I'm curious as how the zcons will perform with so much space and all that power it ends up being about 5.x Ft^3 per sub... which will mean lots of mechanical handling.

This build was started on Friday night at 10:30 PM and was finished today with about a total of 12 hours of TOTAL working time.. came out great... Specs are ~ 13 cubes total with about 12 in^2 of port per Ft^3.. wasn't a whole lot of space without going past the B-pillar since mine is shaped odly. tuned to around 37-38hz Not exactly where i wanted the specs to be but it will suffice.
