this has been an ongoing thing for me and i cant sit on it anymore. late last year i ordered 4 tejcurrent alts and a quad bracket. alts came in, everything was fine, till early this year i started having problems. 1 alt went out, sent it in, Troy fixed it and said he was going to ship it out asap. well shortly after this, i had the rest tested, they wer all fine so i put them all back on with my stock alt in the missing ones position. 3 days later EVERY ONE OF THE ALTS quit working, even the stock. took them off, put my mechman 270 back on and it has worked fine ever since. the alts have a 1 year warranty. i have tried contacting him several times since. no answer to emails or PM's on SSA. i lost his number, and from my understanding several other ppl are in my same situation. i have 3 dead alts at my house and the one alt that i shipped him that i never received. i have since sold the bracket and retired the truck for my new build. anyone on here know Troy jones or talked to him recently? this is getting rediculous. i know i can have someone fix them but that requires paying for them. and considering they have a warranty i dont really wanna go that route. anyone know anything?

If you have another show on this date or somthing you think is more important cancel it! This will be a huge show full of loud cars and fun times. Bring whoever you want and come down and have some fun with us all night. THIS IS A DEMO FRIENDLY AREA.... even though last year we wer getting complaints from over a mile away! but we love demos and love hairtricks ***Alpine will be here with lots of euipment to raffle off! -
normally thats what i would do, but the guy bought 3 before he contacted me to do the install.... so i have to do 3 lol
-
but that was also 3 net. the way i sit now it will be 2.7 net with this box after the port :/ he wanted 3... treid to talk him int0 2
-
i dont remember exactly, the guy is more concernd with SQ more than anything. i wanna say it was around 30-35 inches of port tuned to 34
-
icci 53 is what my new port will be at so hopefully im in hsi ballpark. 160 is pretty damn impressive for 7k

Here is pics of my Tejcurrent quad alt and bracket install in my 99 silverado. install took around 3-4 hours total. instructions were very detailed though, with very good pictures to help. thanks Troy! pics of the alts and all hardware out of the box! old mechman alt the ECM has to be moved forward to allow clearance. to do so take the battery tray out and the ecm will unbolt. bolt it back in forward so that the second hole is now in the first position make sure you grind off the powdercoating around the mounting bolts before you install or you wont get a good ground connection.
-
damn. looks like hes got interchangable ports. you know what frequency he did that at?
-
and if you dont mind me asking troy, do you know what the guy on your site with the other quad set up in the silverado was hitting?
-
hmm im not sure. i think just plain old bolts. i know they arent stainless. but thanks for bringing that up that may haven something to do with my issue..... anyone got any suggestions?

awesome man. I used black gloss formica on the front. i use i talot in my installs. it will be on the bext box as well

i have 2 woofers that i had bought from Brian Owens off of CA.com that wer crossfire motors with a fi basket & BTL softparts. i had an issue with one of them before and emailed FI and got a fast reply and they fixed it and got it back to me within a week. well i have since torn the spiders on these woofers and contacted to get them reconed several months ago but got no reply. i just let it go and they have been sitting for awhile. well i sold 2 of the motors and ordered BTL recones to do it myself as i have done for other production BTL's before. well im not sure if i ordered the kits for the wrong series of BTL's or what but i did one and messed it up somehow the coils are off and i just gave up before i wasted anymore money on the other one. i sent an email into FI about a week ago and still have got no reply from both email adresses i sent to about sending them in. can anyone on here help me ? it would be greatly appriciated. picture of the woofers.
-
ahh bummer. i figured it was somthin like that its got some sever rub but that was the least of the problems, the kit really doesnt seem to be sitting on the basket right. but o well just get back to me as soon as possible about sending them in and gettin them proper care i guess
-
lol i figured that out upon trying it. i have a few old BTL coils at home from other recones and i compared them to the ones out of these woofers and they seemed to be exact. but i guess not. my loss haha. but yeah i just need to get them reconed asap so i can get them out of my garage and in this kids truck who keeps buggin me. i still have one of the recone kits NIB if you guys can take that back, otherwise no biggy i can find a home

mmk so the time has come for the teardown! as much as it hurts me to destroy my own work, i have to do it! Next year it will be MUCHHH better. so the first plan is to rebuild the box. the plan is to keep the back, bottom, and sides. but do away with the front. i will add about 10 inches or so to the top oof the box with a 1 1/2 baffle board with flushed FI SSD woofers. the batterys and MA Audio amps will be displayed on the front of the box and all flushed in..the box will be ported out the back and tuned to 33 hz for dailly. and there will be a romovable plate on the port to raise the frequency to around 44 for competitions. and finally the inside will be glassed. if you dont already know here what my upgrade list is. (it has changed a bit from my last build page) -(8 ) Fi SSD 12'' woofers -(2) MA Audio HK802sx amps -(4) Kinetik HC1800 batterys (maybee 2400 depending on size) -300 amp Iraggi alt (maybe dual alt kit) -Multiple runs of 0 guage -MLA mod 15.3v -Audiocontrol LineDriver -Accele DTV tuner -2 7" LCD screens? -Shaved door handles -5 horn 160 psi train horn. so here we goo. time to rip everything out :spiteful: so there is most of it taken out. the old TV tuner was taken out becasue of the 09 DTV bs. And now...for the box... hehehhahaha

My name is Kyle Golden, im 17, and this is my 1994 GMC Yukon. It was fully built by me at age 16. The only thing i did notdo completly by myself was the paint and prep. My parents bought the original vehicle for me for 2k before i even had my license. I had been installing for almost a year at that time and learned all of my knowledge from fiends at local shops, 10 years worth of CA&E magazines, and numerous online forums and tutorial sites. I began work on it in May of 2007 and started by complety gutting the entire vehicle. ever since i began lookin at pictures in CA&E when i was liek 5 i had always had a vision of MY system in my head. I had also been doing alot of installs for people at my school and every one was braggin about how loud theirs was and what not. So i decided to put my dream to life and show everyone waht i was made of. Here are some pics of the original yukon and the first stages of the build. I took almost 400 pictures over the course of the year that i worked on it but i wanna make this short lol.

black vinyl yall these boxes will hold the fuse blocks and distribution bocks and be lighted with blue leds got the back trim panal all wrapped up thats it for noww
-
thanks guys... god some neww picsss grille guides to hold the trim panel on without screws I had to tack the panal up with screws then drill a 1/4" hole all the way through. that makes them perfectly aligned. then i had to bore out the female ends hole 2 bigger drill bits to allow it to be flushed in. took while. haha router jig i rigged up. unfortunatly while i was routing the damn ball bearing came off and caused the whole thing to get jacked up so i had to bodyfill it back to normal. rabited the inside edge so the plexi can be recessed in. 45d the outside edge
