I am building a box in my wheel well. In the wheel well there is a small bracket that is where the spare tire is secured down. If I were to place a pipe in the middle of my box, to be used as a pass through where a long screw would go through to secure the box down. I would silicone it of course, I just want to know if there is any sort of petential problem music wise. See the attached for an idea of what i am talking about.

MORE INFO DAAAMMMMMN YOU!!!! You can't just do something like this and say "hey look RL-p infinite baffle". We need your opinions, thoughts, in-depth anaylasis, comments on performance at both low and high levels. SQ, how well it blends with the rest of your system. Descriptions of your trunk, how well is it sealed off. Daammnn you, that's like saying "You should see my killer install" and then don't post pics. Don't you realize we are a bunch of obsessive compulsives audio fanatics. Thats like cutting up steaks all day to feed to the wolves but then your forget the steaks and go visit the wolves all bloody and meaty smelling...... AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes to acid and I may even add an American lock to piss of thieves. to supa, I was actually wondering about the 2 1/2" diameter pipe that would house it as I don't want to have to reseal it everytime I remove the box. But that is exactly the bar I want to thread into the bracket. Just did'nt know if the pipe might act like a bell or somehting funky and create problems.

Okay so what box size would be heaven for a 12" RL-p D2 getting 700-800 watts max. I want a ported box tuned to 24Hz. I have about 3 cubic feet available. What would be heaven for the woofer?
-
When you guys mention your cube is that inclusive of the port area? I am taking everything outta my trunk and I did some more measuring and I think I am alot shorter on space than I had originally envisioned. I think after driver displacement and not including the port I am at around 1.8 cube. I am going to make the port outside of the box so 1.8 is what I will actually have. Is that perfect or do I need to find some more space?

I will be needing some vinyl. What color you gettin? I want to use that for the floor of my trunk. It will cover the top & sides of my box, the two panels that will serve as my amp rack and power/ground distros as well as the panels I use to cover my amps so that everything is stealth.

I want to have a port that is out side of my box but I also want a port that runs along the contours of the side of my hatch. This will make for a port that is shaped like "~". Is this a problem so long as I make sure that the port is exacly "x" cubic inchs? What sort of problems could I encounter? Thanks Jerry

I was thinking of using a cardboard mock up that I would then cover aluminum foil then with fleece. Slap some resin on there, wait for it to dry. Slap on 2 or 3 layers of glass and finally rip out the card and foil. I figured the fleece on the inside would make for a nice smooth port inner surface. Not sure if that is necessary though. Or I could use one of those rain gutter pipe things that everyone has on the side of their homes. What do your guys think? Or lastly the PVC idea but I prefer the first so that I can form fit and make it more low profile. Perhaps I could combine the PVC with the glass. Glass against the wall and add half pieces of PVC which I could then glass at joints and turns.

Hey Mrray would a bandpass be a better idea or will I lose the same amount of output? This one also with the port outside of the box. Thanks Jerry

If I go to a Marine shop to get the glass, what sort of weave should I be looking for? Are there classifications? Or can you give a for example.... Thanks
-
What are some good places to get this stuff? What am I looking for? Is there specific kinds? Are there cheaper ones and more expensive ones? How much is a good deal if I am searching on e-gay? How much will I need to make a 31x26x10.5 inch tub? How thick to I need to make it? Thanks Jerry

Undercoverpunk, I saw that you purchased some of this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...ssPageName=WDVW stuff but you mentioned that you could not use it? Why? NJCC this egay biaxial egay stuff seems to be the cheapest stuff for my project. Is there one from this guys egay store that you would recommend or are you of the opinion that I should stay away from the egay stuff even if it is biaxial? http://stores.ebay.com/Discount-Fiberglass...genameZL2QQtZkm

what are your space limitations? Can you squeeze the woofers into that area where the amps are and cut say a 10inch hole for each one and fire directly up into the cabin? And then still create a port down the center and also fire it through the rear deck.

Does power flow equally over each?

Here is a pic from the top

My only point was that we hardly ever run full tilt for any real length of time, wether it be car, a woofer or whatever. And that all we are really talking about when it comes to LMT tech or XBL tech is a few db here or there which to me really means nothing in the end. I have a homie that has 3 kicker solo cvrs that sound lovely getting 3-400 watts each and I don't really see myself or many others using much more output daily. So maybe you use a single or two woofers getting 1000w each or whatever in the end I bet if we were to check they would be playing at the same level, his turned way the fudge up and yours calmly cruising but still outputting the same general area of output.
