would the driver perform better in a ported box tuned real low
-
i've always liked sealed boxes and i've never had 18's. i've always gone for sounding good and it's always been plenty loud. would i t be better to do a ported box tuned real low? but i think i really do want to try them sealed.

has anyone tryed 2 xcon 18" in a sealed box yet i wonder how they would sound im sure great what would be the correct air space? Id like to build the box big as possible so if it wasnt loud enough sealed i could put a universal port in it

THE MOST FUNCTIONAL ENGLISH WORD Well, it's chit ... that's right, chit! chit may just be the most functional word in the English language. You can smoke chit, buy chit, sell chit, lose chit, find chit, forget chit, and tell others to eat chit. Some people know their chit, while others can't tell the difference between chit and shineola. There are lucky chits, dumb chits, and crazy chits. There is bull chit, horse chit, and chicken chit. You can throw chit, sling chit, catch chit, shoot the chit, or duck when the chit hits the fan. You can give a chit or serve chit on a shingle. You can find yourself in deep chit or be happier than a pig in chit. Some days are colder than chit, some days are hotter than chit, and some days are just plain chitty. Some music sounds like chit, things can look like chit, and there are times when you feel like chit. You can have too much chit, not enough chit, the right chit, the wrong chit or a lot of weird chit. You can carry chit, have a mountain of chit, or find yourself up chit creek without a paddle. Sometimes everything you touch turns to chit and other times you fall in a bucket of chit and come out smelling like a rose. When you stop to consider all the facts, it's the basic building block of the English language. And remember, once you know your chit, you don't need to know anything else!! You could pass this along, if you give a chit; or not do so if you don't give a chit! Well, chit, it's time for me to go. Just wanted you to know that I do give a chit and hope you had a nice day, without a bunch of chit. But, if you happened to catch a load of chit from some chit-head........... Well, chit Happens!!!

Tech.BL The BL line is pretty much a lower power alternative to a BTL or a higher power alternative to the Q series of woofers. This is more of a street jamming type woofer that

it's probably not too bad or that hard you can probably cut some wood rings and use them to adapt the new speaker

looks very nice I think I want the same thing but in a little bigger box
-
I think xcon would be a good choice that what im gonna try

for the first box you picked a hell of 1 you might want to get someone to help you build it that has built ported boxes before. You got to get them right or it won't sound right. Or, you could damage your drivers. I'd be more help but you need too much
-
it is for show but i still want it loud and clear if it dont work the way i want it too the frist time then i'll try it again or take the back seat out that will give me a lot more height it will work one way or another i already have evrything but the drivers by the way it's already had 4 12's in it in a sealed box thanks Big jay

I've built boxes for at least 15 years. But, i've never built a ported box like this. This box is gonna be 31.18 cubic ft 52 in wide x 37 in tall x 28 in deep. Trying to figure out how to fit all the subs and where to put the port. My guesstimations on the port size would be 15 in x 20 in and port length would be 8.13394050 ??????????I put the width and height in on a port calculator and it comes up with this length. What is that? I don't understand the length part. Don't even know if I can make a port hole that size with those subs in there. I was thinking of slotting the port either at top and bottom or on the sides. Sides would be better i'd have more room. I've never built a box like this so i'm clueless. Always built sealed boxes. Please help.

You get a lot more room when you take all the plastic and chit ya dont need ive done a couple of creations but never a ported wall . Do you think it would hit harder laying down and fireing up port to the back
-
sure there is. like i said i lke to make stuff difficult. anybody can rip out the backseat and put a bunch of subs in something. i'm trying to put a bunch of subs in something and make it look like it came that way. thanks for the drawings. they look really good. that's what it's gonna look like eventually. once it warms up and got some room in my shop. but i do believe i got it. i'll post a build on it when i get it started. it ought to be a creation. the box is cool but the drivers will have to be staggered off centered a bit because they are 18's. i like the way you did the picture of the box. what program is that? thats cool. its a 1998 explorer i think i know what im getting into Ill build it in it. lol
