Interesting thread concerning Atomic Audio....A must read. http://www.carstereo.com/forum/showthread.cfm?tid=61617&fid=6

Hayes, this post was unnecessary, please refrain from slander unless you have personally dealt with me. I am a very honest and trustworthy seller here and deal with tons of customers daily I believe that forums are a place for people to express their opinions. Good or bad. It is up to the individuals reading to come to their own conclusion. I have read the threads, statements concerning how you do business. I have come to my own conclusion and that is why a Skar will be my next sub.

Here you go....this is from page 4. I am quoting a post by the buyer. This is about his conversation with Atomic. I called Atomic personally and the guy who answered the phone said that Atomic is the best and does not feel threatened by me or over the statements I may make or anyone makes on the forum and that its lucky that Max is willing to even offer it to anyone here and that the price that I got that amp for is a smoking deal and one hell of a custom amp and that I should be greatful that atomic was willing to allow such an opportunity to me. I was shocked at the arrogance portrayed by the man I spoke to. I just cant believe that they are so high classed that they would act like I was lucky to be able to own an Atomic amp... I am really interested in the situation now as I cant find one on ebay and the secret prices are hidden its like a rich secret society for special people that know special people only and the prices are super high. I asked the man if my amp is worth so much than will he buy it back from me for 500.00 and he said no that its not worth anything to him because he runs the factory and can make a million if he wanted. Strange that he would say its valuable to me and that I should treasure it but its worthless to him??? I have decided to post it on ebay as the custom amp that it is and see it it goes like a hotcake from Ihop. If Atomic is crazy high priced and rare to find than I may sell my amp for a good price and than I will have to eat my words. than again if no one wants it and I cant sell it, the truth becomes revealed that Atomic is just some dumb company after all. If i cant sell the amp when i can afford a similar one in power handling I will test them both for sq and efficiency and than I can post the facts about the deal.. I am interested in how Atomic can be so high and mighty yet I cant find many youtube videos or anything on ebay or well anywhere for that matter. like they dont really exist or something. they say that there stuff is not sold on line but i have found amps for sell in foreign countries carstereo websites......

The buyer was told that he was getting a brand new 2200 watt amp in the old style Atomic case. At the hefty price tag of $900!!!!!!!!! The guy was obviously not well versed in car audio but he trusted maximuscaraudio....The dirtbag that sold it to him. He recieved the amp banged up and scratched. He was told it was an old style case not used. He also stated there was no warranty sticker intact. He pops off the cover and discovers that it is nothing but an old beat up 1500.1. Seller agrees to give him his money back. When the amp arrives he says it is damaged and he will have to depend on the shipper to cover the loss via insurance. If they don't he's not giving him a dime. Now he has no amp and is out around a grand for the initial cost as well as shipping charges. maximuscaraudio is a worthless piece of $hit!!!!!! Anyone that deals with him or Atomic needs to have their head examined. You would have to go through the thread and find where the buyer of the amp contacted atomic....They are pathetic.

Atomic has agreed to give him a full refund. I advised him to buy a Sundown and be done with it.
-
I don't think I would own anything made by Atomic if someone gave it to me after reading that. And the guy selling their garbage....Maximuscaraudio....He needs a good kick in the nuts.

About 20 yrs ago I buried the speedo in my 65 corvair......The tac was only at 3500 and the speedo went to 140. I stayed on it til I hit 5k on the tac. I guess I was going about 150 or 155. -
ESX and ZED branded Zed amp pic's. Who has some clean ones?
ou812 replied to WRX/Z28's topic in ZED Audio
Thanks denim but it not quite the entire line. The others im missing yet is the 75.2, 120.2, 275.1, and the 475.1 but these are by far the most rare. Still on the look out though. I do understand collecting things, but why are you collecting (are you gonna do some all ESX builds in the future or are you just gonna keep them so they can collect dust). Of course he is just like me and my little collection. Great son I have there Cutra. -
Actually a belt frive is better for home use. It hides the vibration of the motor better. Direct drives are more DJ suited. They tend to take more abuse but the vibration isn't noticable to a bunch of drunk people in a nightclub.
-
By any chance do you happen to have an ESX q475.1?
-
Sorry about that....I didn't realize that he was logged in here when I started this thread. To the point....Has anyone ever had an ESX amp benched? How much power over rated can we expect? Funny seeing you here Aznboi

Got an update from Zed. We are pleased to announce the introduction of the new Zed Audio mobile amplifiers. We are busy testing the pre-production samples and production will commence in about 70 days. The two models we are introducing initially are KRONOS rated at 250w/ch 4 ohm or 500w/ch at 2 ohm. Its MSRP is $399.00. This amplifier shall be able to multi task. It will carry out the duties of a traditional 2 channel amp with High Pass, Low Pass and Band Pass functions. In addition it will do what traditional mono block sub amps do. It will have loop through outputs for daisy chaining multiple amplifiers. The loop through sockets shall be the 3rd and 4th inputs for constant subwoofer fading. LEVIATHAN is our 6 channel amplifier rated at 150w x 6 at 4 ohm or 300w x 6 at 2 ohm. Its MSRP is $599. The feature sets of this amplifier are so diverse that I shall post them on the web site in the next few days or you may request an email and we shall send this information. The amplifiers shall be small and light and very efficient. Sizes: KRONOS 272mm/10.7

I jus got this email from steve telling a little about the new line "We are pleased to announce the introduction of the new Zed Audio mobile amplifiers. Sorry I didn't get the joke. How about a tip on the Burr Brown upgrade? Will it still be available? How about a tube option?
-
Uh some secret......I posted it here almost 2 months ago. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...23744&st=30

I received this e-mail from Stephen yesterday concerning the new amp lineup. The first of the new products to be released in early 2009 are: 1) Two channel amplifier rated at 250w/ch 4 ohm/500w/ch at 2 ohm. This amplifier shall be able to multi task. It will do the duties of a traditional 2 channel amp with HP and LP functions. In addition it will do what traditional mono block sub amps do. It will have line outputs and also 4 inputs for constant subwoofer fading It will be small and light and very efficient. A radically new power supply design is being employed in all our new amplifiers 2) A six (6) channel amplifier rated at 150w x 6 @ 4 ohm/ 300w x 6 @ 2 ohm. This will truly be a multi tasker as the options available will be really versatile. Full range, High pass, Low pass, band pass and sub modes are offered with the ability to have all channels as sub, 4 channels or just two. So amplifier will do 150w x 2 flat, high pass or low pass (mono or stereo) on channels 1+2. Channels 3 +4 will do the same with the addition of band pass. Channels 5+6 will do full range or low pass (mono or stereo) with a variable subsonic crossover. You can: Run all channels in flat mode Run ch's 1+2 high pass or flat and 3+4+5+6 in low pass Run chs 1+2 high pass or flat, 3+4 high or band pass or flat and 5+6 low pass Run all chs low pass Channels 5+6 can have 2 or 4 RCA inputs Channels 5+6 can have their Low pass crossover deleted when used with head units having built low pass crossovers. Run all channels flat Run all channels low pass Pairs of channels are bridgeable for 600w 4 ohm operation for a total of 1,800w - many guys prefer to run their woofers from separate channels as it makes impedance mixing/matching easier. Example you have THREE 4 ohm woofers. What do you do? Run them in parallel at 1.3 ohm = tough load for most amplifiers (Ever compared the sound of a nominal 1 ohm sub to that of a 4 or even 8 ohm sub - the 1 ohm sounds really bad! Solution with this or the two channel amplifier. Run two woofers in parallel on one channel and the third on the second channel when using the 250w/ch amplifier OR simply do the same with the 6 channel amplifier with a bunch of channels to spare OR run each woofer on a pair of bridged channels with 600w to each woofer. Need I say more the permutations or huge and with a little imagination one can accommodate almost every requirement with the 6 channel amplifier. Do not forget this - mono block sub woofer amps are dumb! They can only do one thing and that is amplify low frequencies in mono. A four channel 150w x 4 is being considered BUT will not be too much less in cost than the 6 channel.
