Use the harness that came with the Kenwood and wire it to the Toyota one color to color. -
The 6X9's are baffled so they don't distort.

So I was looking at pics of banginAltima's Altima and noticed the external aero ports were facing into the car thru the folded down rear seats. I'm building a box for 2 Fully Loaded 15" BL's and was wondering if I can do something similar. However, theres a catch to my set up. I have a 88' Grand Marquis that has a solid, non-folding rear seat. So I was wondering if I could make custom external aero ports thru my rear deck between the 2 6X9's. Would that have the same effect as it did in Altima's car? He gained about 4Db when he re-designed the box and port set-up. Or am I just being unrealistic?

I would love to ditch the 6X9's if it was an SPL only car. But its my daily driver. Sure it'll do an easy 145 when I'm done but I want the Mid range and Highs to go along with it as well, not just a 5000 lbs bass box. And I can DEFINITELY make it look clean and posses the technology to tune it to exactly what I want....

This is his set up

Awesome. I like very powerful mid range response and have the speakers to support my addictions

Hmmmm. Ok. Guess 100.4 will be good enough. What do they do at 2ohms per channel? Thats what I'd be running it at
-
I'm aware of the output of the 100.4. My thing is that if I buy the 100.4 and then a month later a 125.4 comes out for a couple hundred more, I'm gonna be pissed I'm a power whore!
-
As long as you don't clip or distort the subs sound in any way, it will be just fine. If it sound good, than likely, its not doing either of those things. Don't worry!
-
I definitely heard about a future 125.4 I want one! Thats the only reason I ask

You could go with a set of Kicker SS series components There are definitely LOUD and CLEAR but also OVER PRICED
-
Gotcha. Are you trying to just replace the crossovers or the whole system?
-
You have to help me. Define CDT Sadly, I've never heard of it and am willing to admit it

Thought this would gather more interest than this in an hour!

Quite informative. Glad you're going thru with this. Its good to see the younger ones (not kids by any means!) getting together and learning as much as they can. Eventually, my generation, although still young, will sooner or later get old and need younger, smarter people to fill our shoes and continue the advancement of automotive technology and such. Keep up the good work! I support you 100%!

A 3000D is definitely on my wish list as soon as I sell what I have! Hope its before the 15th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Sounds like you have a great plan
-
And you have to come up with a cool Car Club Symbol and get it tattooed across your backs
-
Interesting....... Not that I own such a car.............. Although I'm sure they get great gas mileage............

Cool. I'm really only concerned with there power and ground wires. I'm running all Metra wire right now. I love the RCA's/Speaker Wire but not so much the power/ground wire. Don't get me wrong, it works great just as it should, but it has NO flex at all and I'm moving up to 1/0 awg do to some up coming upgrades to the Amp/Sub combo..........

So if I rolled up with my 1991 Ford Festiva covered in brown primer, I'd be allowed in as long as I'm sittin' on 20's and doing a 146.9 Db on the dash?

You can replace it with a 1 ohm resistor as well if you choose to take it on yourself
