    New Setup Suggestions

you can't go wrong with the rl-i. it's under rated a bit, has great output potential, and is/can be a small box woofer. and it's backed by one helluva nice guy. that being said, the other options listed above by denim are in the same playing field. solid performers, excellent people behind them and a good price. anyone of those three would be a great choice. teh ICON would be the rarest/biggest no one else has them factor at the moment. the fi is the middle child with the rl-i being the oldest sub in the group. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Need opinions on new setup...

teh mag under $250? where at denim? lol... but the other subs listed will be close... and denim is right. yoru dropping cone area, and the hx2s aren't no slouch. the new box will play a big role in the overall output side of things. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    loudest setup

i like the ported 12" bl setup. we've done numerous installs here where we've gone from a pair of sealed subs with x number of watts to a single ported setup, ie: 15" m3s, pr 1000d, to 15" mojo, same amp) with the same power and the single ported setup was louder, by quite a bit. sound quality didn't seem to suffer much as these are installs dominated by hip hop music. for more overall sq, without lacking much output, i'd go with the first option as well. but, i'm really liking number 2.....hehe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Fosgate subs

how do they sound compared to L7's, because they dont sound all that great personally, i prefer the L7s sound over the T1 and T2s. i also like the sq of the solox over either fosgate sub. and the L7 and solo x will more then hold their own against them, if not beat them, for output. the last line of subs i truly liked from rf was the hx2 line, my punch hx2 8s were insane. after that, they are just a waste of money. so much more out there for less money with the same or better performance. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

how is everyone running there rl-s?

mike's pretty dead on with his box recommendations. for the rl-i8, the flattest response was givin at .17ft^3, i was skeptical at first. but all be damn if that lil beast doesn't work great in that little sumbitch of a box. the thing is jsut barely big enough to hold the friggin sub, lol. so i would go with the recommendation. if nothign else, one can always had polyfil. on the flip side, go big. if it sounds like ass, block it. take away airspace. either way has a way out. email mike as well. let him know what power, what car and what yoru looking to achieve. he'll shoot back with a box recommendation. though i'll wager it's close tothe 2.5, hehe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

(<after i typed that, i was like wtf! and was going to delete it, but it's just too damn funny!) the stereo integrity bm subwoofer thing? is jdm going to be able to get one? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Does this box design look ok for my RL-P 12?

i must be nuts then, lol. or hard of hearing... or maybe both. but the rl-i8 is a sexy beast! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

how is everyone running there rl-s?

i never ran it sealed. i went for 2.5ft^3 net @28hz and 32in^2 of port. with 1200wrms, it was a beast... but you knew that story already, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Which amplifier wiring kit?

get the 1/0, it'll tuck right into the little channel GM so thoughtfully provided along the sail panels! i have memphis 1/0 in my truck, that shit (memphis) doesn't bend worth shit, and it is hidden away nicely. you'll need a GM side post battery adaptor, unless you go with a yellowtop, which i will recommend. then you can use the terminals you linked too. those are the exact terminals i have used. and with jsut 1kwrms, a yellow top, and the big three, yoru factory alternator will be just fine. it's a minimum 105amp (like mine) or if you are lucky, you have the 145amp one. in either case, the 1k won't be a big deal with the B3 and yellow top. i run a big belle in my truck (55x4 adn 1100x1) and have no issues. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  14. clarion 675 and 775... both have rca aux inputs and the usb cord. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Welcome to the IHoP

Ruined indeed haha. nah, it means something. Bdawson said he is gonna get a silverado too. Maybe you might be building him a box soon. Whats up with those trucks everyone likes them. yeah,it does indeed mean something. and i like it to boot too!, lol silverados are just good trucks. get respectable gas milage (mine averages near 17mpg) have good hp and torque curves, and unlike other extended cabs, there is room under the back seat to actually do some things. hopefully bdawson will do four L7 8s, lol. that box is built! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Mach 5 or not...subs and the decision

i have a cvx 15 ported in the wife's trailblazer. it's a wonderful sub. but it's not going to be mistaken for an LSQ subwoofer. it's meant to get loud and boom, and sound decent doing it. and it does that jsut fine. another thing, two sealed vs one ported isn't necessarly good for the two sealed. remember, the port effectively acts as another sub, and one tuned to a specific frequency. so the one sub setup could very well be louder. however, with planned tuning at 30hz, two sealed with be on a pretty even playing field. is budget a big concern? if so, teh pair of maw15s will be very hard to beat. and nevermind how cheap they are, they are very well made. space is going to be about the same, so that's not going to be an issue. weigh out which is more important, output or flat response. if output wins, go with the single ported sub, and tune a bit higher. if the flattest response is the primary goal, grab the maw15s and seal those suckers! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Welcome to the IHoP

morning..kinda...lol. got another new tattoo last night. so my boy's name and my wife's name are on me twice, lol. yep, i'm ruined. got some mowing to do today, tehn it's off to lowes or menards to get wood, and build, not one, not two, but three under the seat boxes for silverados. one for jdm here, one for me and one for a friend who jsut traded his standard cab for a xcab. yep..busy, busy. now to get started on it. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
