wow denim, i think reading that just dumbed me down some. i really like this line, "my 55watts is only half of what the 6x9s are capable of (90w rms) that gives their tweeters enough juice to play with but not the cone! " so, i guess infinitys come with some kind of power block off device that only allows the tweeters to play if their isn't enough power? oh, and notice no response from kevin yet? i can't wait to read that...i need to subscribe, lol.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

lol.. yep, that change in tone is distortion. glad you're liking it! i love my setup! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

nothing wrong with a 43.9 in a trunk car, lol.. nice job! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

see I tried it with the speaker wires in and not in and got the same values. Is distortion noticable? I saw the video of what bass boost sounds like when it starts clipping, is it going to be that noticeable to my ear? I was messing with the gain by ear and the sub was getting really loud, but still sounded good. I'm not sure how loud is too loud since i went from 250watts single 10" sealed to a 1000watts 12" ported. I'm scared to turn the gain up cause this system is nice. I'll play with it some more and see what happens. Having it clip for a few seconds wont hurt anything right? Like if I'm playing with it to see if I can hear it clipping, that won't hurt anything right? -John take a pic of what your doing when setting the amp with the dmm. a little clipping will not hurt. so if your playing with the gain, trying to hear it clip, you won't hurt anything, especialy if u start ot smell the sub, back it off for awhile and let the coil cool. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

no clue. i haven't heard anything. only new news is the other employees are checking into doing the exact same thing, lol. dude is definitely going down sooner then later, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

iirc= if i remember correctly leave both speaker wires hooked up. if you disconnect one, the amp sees no load, thus won't produce any power. otherwise, you have the dmm set correctly. also remember, the dmm method isn't precise. teh impedence changes do to a few different varibles. but it'll get you close. you still want to listen for any distortion at that gain setting. and if you hear it, back the gain off a bit. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

so, how does it perform? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

*psst* Kent, did you see this? Don't mean to be a nag at all though. nope, not nagging. i never saw it... i get to work on something tonight and try to have it done by the weekend. any size constraints? favorite fonts? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Size constrainsts... hmmmm, maybe under 6" across. Not real sure, It'll probably go on my side. I don't have any favorite fonts at all, although I am somewhat of a fan of the gothic, old type stuff. No hurry on it, I'm not sure how much computer time I'll have between now and the 10th, going to Bowling Green, Kentucky for a pistol match and not sure if I'll be able to use internet at all. cool. i'll get something done this weekend bro!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

yeah, i tend to agree with the thinking above. the thing is, it's been fun, lol. i suppose i'll let it be, i'll just keep an eye out, lol. it's time i stand above his crap. thanks guys. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

i agree with sean..lpf somewhere between 60-80hz, no higher. i'll wager that unless your mids/subs are wired outa phase, the phase switch will be useless. however, like sean said, try it in both positions. it can indeed help out. boost=nono. and gain, well, that's been covered as well. can't wait to hear what you've got to say about that setup. it seems like it's made in heaven. if jacob had a five channel, the belle would be gone! kent=memphis fanboy no longer! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

poll started in the off topic section... i guess i should have posted a link, lol... time for shower and shave, and then work! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/4/368928.html i have my own thread.... well, i have to share it with ben, lol. sometimes i wonder if i should just let it go. i mean, it seems to have worked. there isn't a huge low-hz presence there anymore. and people seem to not be standing up for ben like before either. what do y'all think? should i jsut let it go and move on? or should i continue to bash the nutless wonder? guess i need to start a poll, lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

x2 while i too, love the mag. teh w6v2 are jl's best sub. and a pair of them sealed will offer great sq and output off that sundown. nothing against the mag, it'll hold it's own one on one against jsut about any sub. but a pair fo the w6s, even sealed, i think is a bit much for even a mag. now, if you went a pair vs a pair sealed, like ///M5 mentioned, well, i dunno what i'd pick. probably the mags. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

oh snap, did i see a carpet cut line? lol... that is going to be a sweeeet combo in that truck! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

or what jacob said, lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee:slayer:

as you found out, your mids were out of phase. as to the cause, i hate to say it, but it's probably an install issue. i'm sure it could be traced back to the wiring. not to say the amp could be marked wrong, or the speakers, that's a possibility, but i'd wager it's install. without subs, alot of one's hig end is revealed.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
