if you described your hands correctly, you'll love the xd. and the transition isn't bad. i personally own a couple of polymers, jsut got rid of my 1911 (rusty sumbitch won't even get name mentioned anymore) and i never have any issues going from gun to gun. of course i'm a bit of a nut and will sit for hours cleaning, racking the slide, working the controls until i can flat do it with zero thought and effort. and a .40 in a light polymer gun (i'm assuming you have a goverment length 1911) is about the same recoil as a .45 in a 1911. it's firm, but it's very managable. a .45 in a polymer is a bit more then the 1911, but it's still not a handful. and if the grip fits better, recoil is easier tamed. justin, glad it fits, that's the key. but i'm with you, a sub compact should be just that, a sub compact. kinda like my keltec... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee You sold me. I'll try one out at the range next time I go. You sound like me. Sometimes if I need to zone I just keep taking the 1911 apart and putting it back together. I may have to try the XD then. Pretty much did describe hand right. I have shorter fingers and a verry wide thick palm and thicker fingers. "high volume hand" is the term in the glove buying buisness I guess. I think of them as fat sausages. The ladies love it. ha! =P lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

mid 70s to early 80s 'vettes are surprisingly affordable, as far as classic cars go that is true, averaging from around $5k to $7500 depending upon options, shape, etc. but some are easily low 5 digit cars, with a few hitting even better. what ticks me off is that goon that owns them, and of course, what he thinks they are worth, lol. plus since i don't own any corvette, it just really ticks me off he has 3. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yeah, but ur truck is worth more than all three of them lol probably not, lol. but thanks anyway wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

if you've taken the backseat out, which i'm assuming you have, the best score i've gotten in a xcab truck involved subs and port facing forward. and yep, it was a pair of 15's. that said, i did try building a a rear wall, and then sub up, port back, and got damn near as loud. if i had more electrical, i think it would have gotten the 15's, BUT it was an s18x and 4000d vs treo ss's and 1000d, lol. raising the tuning will definitely help, as will adding power. by how much? who knows. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

lol, that looks pretty damn good for just a bullshit bassrace install. kudo's bro!! any numbers yet? making me want to do the same thing in my little hooptie... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

i went ahead and pinned this, there are a few mentioned PS names, but not many. i get my ps3 next month hopefully. at that point COD4 and gran turismo (when it comes out) are the only games i'm wanting for it. what's the live experience like on ps3? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

lol...only ditch i've ever had to take had nothing to do with winter. rather, i was on one of our many two lane "highways" and in the process of passing another car. right as i'm alongside the other car, a car turned left onto the highway in front of me. there was nowhere for me to go except the ditch. long story short, i got very lucky. this was during a time when guardrails still had the ends pointed at the ground here, and not the big blunt ends they are now. the car ran up the guardrail, the right front tire hanging up on it. so instead of flipping over and over repeatily at 60+mph, i simply backed off the rail, changed the front tire and went on to my night of drinking. (at the time this happened, i hadn't even started drinking yet) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

That reminds me, I need to get out my heatstrip shortly and bend some plexi for some crossovers. wait, you have a method of forming plexi? I use my heatstrip and bend the piece over blocks of wood that are cut at different angles. The side of a bench will work fine for a 90* bend - just make sure to mark the piece at both ends so you can line those lines up with the edge of the bench or block ... it'll keep your bend straight and not diagonal. Let it sit on the heatstrip too long and it'll melt, too short and when you go to bend it the piece will snap at the joint or not bend at all. I have used 1/8", 3/8", 5/8", and 1/4" thick plexi/acrylic on it. which is pretty much how the pros do it. a simple method of making a heat strip is to dismantle an electric heater, using the coils as the element. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

that being said, it's still a lot of amp for the money, and it might do just what kicker wants it too. What do you mean it might do what kicker wants it to?? Are you referin to the kicker warhorse 10kw? Or the 10Kw hifonics amp? JW And what do you think of that new kicker amp? sorry, as chevy350tpi pointed out above, i meant the maxximus should do what KICKERASSMAN wants it to do. from my understanding, the warhorse is indeed a beast, though he hasn't given me the full rundown as of yet. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee -
To be honest, I'm sure you'd be just fine with regular LEDs. have to figure out what size and where to get 'em though http://www.superbrightleds.com/ good place to start wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

it's just one of those things...got tired of sharing when the agreed upon corvette never showed up in the driveway... but all is not lost. she still comes around for a little ( and i mean little) ever now and again.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

if the rumor is true about tc sounds, there might not be anymore rl-i8s, and the audiopulse drivers might get even more expensive... mazdaboom, you're the first i've heard of being disappointed with the AA drivers, care to elaborate? depending upon power, output goals, one could still look into the RE RE 8. that's a decent little driver. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

well, at least steve kept a part of his word. now let's see what happens when you get the product, when you get the product. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

the answer to your first question...no. a pair of goliaths strapped will beat it. which is funny as this thing is essentially a pair of goliaths strapped in the same case. james herren and kevin koller tested this thing in a street a step up against kevin's older goliaths. the goliaths were .5db louder. james has went on to cactus sounds 5kws and can't be happier. that being said, it's still a lot of amp for the money, and it might do just what kicker wants it too. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
