    02 Extended Cab GMC... Ideas?

downfiring "seems" to enhance lowend, to the ear, though i can't verify this with any measurement. the 4 8L7s forward facing is insanely loud for what it is...but those subs aren't cheap. the box was built for the ICON, so that would be my first suggestion. also, i'd recommend between 1k to 1.5k in power, so the sub has to be able to handle that and be no deeper then the ICON. it wasn't the loudest setup i had, but it would do mid 130's legal all day long. and sound good doing it. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Welcome to the IHoP

too be honest, i was thinking about using either the rl-i8 or the pair of clarion 8s. i need to get rid of the memphis belle and get a different amp...teh ICON will either go in the hooptie or the next truck, room allowing. watching all the wall builds, i have half a mind to wall off the hooptie with the ICON, lol....just because. but i don't really want to use the belle in there, though i guess it would work. and i don't think i could've gotten a regular MINI. but this being 6spd, supercharged and convertible sold the deal, it's a blast to drive, lol. tom, i'll get pictures saturday...promise! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Big, BIG Wire and terminals

biggest difference is sheathing...car audio cable has more wrapped around it then typical welding cable. that said, welding cable usually has some sort of wrapping in the wrapping so to speak. don't know the technical term, but it's a wax paper sort of wrap that's suppose to help in protecting against bare wires. also, not for sure if it's true, but high end car audio cable might have less resistance through the same length of run. higher strand count, less oxygen, blah, blah, blah. in welding, that's not a huge issue, just being able to carry and maintain the high current needed to weld. otherwise, alot of people here use welding cable with great results. i used it in my truck, no issues what so ever. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

true dat!! that's why it's the wifes. it's her anniversay present. i can give up my truck for awhile for a woman who has put up with my shit for 13 years of marriage and 16 years of being together. and the fact that i get another truck soon, it was an easy trade to make. not too mention the deal we got. and the fun factor. that car is fun, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Welcome to the IHoP

Kent, please tell me he's wrong can't. traded the silverado in on a dark grey convertible mini cooper s. 2006 model with 4600 miles on it. the wife has wanted one since they came out, and we got this one for 3k under book and got payoff for the truck as trade in, 17k. and my truck is beat to hell, lol. couldn't really pass it up, as the thing is pretty much fully loaded and is just plain fun to drive. and easily doubling the gas mileage of the silverado/trailblazer, we are going to be saving not only on teh car payment, as it went down as well, but damn near $150 or so a month in gas. nice guess ryan2, the tire size finally gave it away, lol. matt, the solstice/sky was on the wish list, but it's just a two seater. my next clue was that this car can seat 4, though i don't want to be in the back. also, next year, or maybe even later this year, i get to trade teh trailblazer in on the truck of my choice. that's between an xcab z71 2500 with the duramax or an z71 avalanche at the moment, subject to change. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    02 Extended Cab GMC... Ideas?

i've ran dual downfiring ported 10s, single downfired ported 10, four upfiring sealed 10s and most recently ran a single 12 downfired and ported (an ICON at that), all under the seat, without lifting it and without it extending into the foot area. i've also built boxes to hold four forward firing 8L7s ported to go under there, again without lifting the seat. there's a lot of options for under that seat, lol. speaking of which, for $175 shipped, i'll sell you my single 12, dowfiring, tuned to 34hz enclosure as i just traded my truck off yesterday. pics of the enclosure are around here somewhere, and ILuvJDM as the enclosures twin, as he's running a 12" ICON as well under his seat. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

What is the best 4x6 front speakers?

i thought i did suggest some specifically? and only switch from kicker to memphis if the memphis sounds better to you. personally, the kicker stuff is better quality. memphis quality has been going downhill here recently. not to say they are a bad company, but they used to be better. seriously look into that clarion plate 4x6, it's a beast. i'll see if i can't dig up a model number. and stay away from infinity, unless your into replacing them all teh time. http://audiovideodimension.com/index.php?m...9481bbd4af3eaa6 wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Welcome to the IHoP

Combination of his grip and his sighting method, it depends on where hes looking when hes aiming, at the front sight, target, or rear site. ISSF shooting (what I shoot), you ONLY look at the front sight, if I remember correctly, when shooting something like speed plates you look at the target and not at your sights. *never shot speed plates* might be an eye dominance issue. more then likely, gun/grip issues. switching from a semi custom 1911 like yours to (what 9mm?) anyother gun is going to create some issues. also, most revolvers have fat grips, those on autos might be too flat and he's not controling the rcoil as he should. speed/plate shooting involves looking at the front sight as well. for the fast guys anyway. if your punching paper slow fire, front and rear are needed. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    13w7 or sound splinter s12?

no clue. but if it didn't get mid 140's, something would be wrong. but it all depends upon install, tuning, sound deadning, etc, etc wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    I'm a newbie needing info...

would be very loud and depending on box, would sound pretty damn good as well. of course neon's idea just above this would rip nicely as well, lol!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

What is the best 4x6 front speakers?

clarion has a badass 4x6 plate speaker, but i can't remember the model number. it has a true 4" midrange with a 3/4" silk tweeter, IIRC. of course the kickeer stuff isn't nothing to sneeze at, lol. i also like the memphis mclass 4x6. with the swivel tweeter, it'll be farily easy to adjust some of the staging. lastly, with the monsoon system, are you sure it's a 4x6 up front? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    13w7 or sound splinter s12?

that would kick ass! you'd need d2 subs wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    I'm a newbie needing info...

i don't think the rl-s needs a huge box to get loud. i got to a 139.9 outlaw with a single 12 rl-s in 2.5ft^3 tuned to 32hz with just 1200wrms and a factory gm radio. now that being said, it won't offer it's flattest response, might lose some on the extreme bottom end, but if he's got enough power............ wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
